Any interest in upper control arms?

OK First off lemme say I am in no way affiliated with Hardrace or spamming or anything, I am just a DA owner like the rest of you guys.

As alot of you know there isn’t really any decent DA-specific adjustable upper control arm out right now. The skunk2’s are designed for EF’s and throw the caster way off on our cars and thats pretty much the only option right now.

I have been building up a 93 RS for a few years now and one of the things that is holding me back from finishing is the front suspension. I have a freind who knows a guy at Hardrace (http://www.hardrace.com/) and I have been trying to get them to make a upper control arm kit for the DA for a few months now. But several days ago I got the news that they have no plans to go ahead with it unless they have ~50 people interested.

So I’m turning to you guys to see if there is any interest because I am hoping there is enough interest to change their minds…

Thanks, Joe

I’m in and I’m down for a deposit. Hardrace would be smart to make one. There are a lot of people with DA’s not on this site so idk if 50 people will step up but I know I would definitely buy one if they produced a good one. I hate Skunk2.

it would probably depend on price for alot of us.

I’m already using the vision uca’s on my car, so I’m not really in need of a different kit. But I really think they should make one. And depending on the specs and price might even buy a set. Although if its only a basic camber kit then I don’t care. But if it uses upgraded bushings, quality ball joints, has the ability to add negative camber and is sturdier than stock (similar bracing to the vision arms), then that will be an awesome kit!

^^ werd to what colin said. im in need of a set for my project but price and quality is always a factor:shy:

yeah, my only issue with camber arms is they seem like they are only made for correcting extreme negative camber when lowering the car.
i want to be able to keep a close to stock ride height and dial in negative camber, if these arms do that i might get some, but im in no mindset for deposits, my luck is horrible so i pay the day i take it home, so to speak.

I’m interested for sure but price will definitely be the deciding factor for me.

I’m in for more details as well and would have no problem with a deposit assuming they aren’t going to be hugely expensive not having a good kit is the reason I’m nit very low in the front and would love to drop the car more as soon as I can get my hands on a good kit

Yeah, as far as I know the Vision is the only kit which if you install at FULL POSITIVE camber you actually end up with net negative camber when compared to stock. It is NOT a camber kit in the sense that you can get rid of camber - it’s performance oriented with the concept of negative camber being a good thing kept in the forefront.

The Vision arms were made for the EF, but they fit the DA. Yes, they change caster but from what I’ve seen it doesn’t seem to be a problem. This is why I’ve always doubted the claims that the Skunk2 EF arms are worthless on a DA because of caster changes. I wish I had the opportunity to see alignent specs of stock vs Vision vs Skunk2.

The Vision kit used to be affordable (10yrs ago) but within the past 5yrs the price skyrockeded, and I don’t even see it listed on JHP anymore, might not even be available. If Hardrace made a similar kit I can’t help but think there’s a decent amount of track and race DA’s which would jump all over it assuming it’s priced similar to similar parts. Seems to me that the use of DA’s as race cars is only growing these days.

Good to see there is at least some interest in this, if more people are into it who knows it might actually happen. As far as pricing, I would imagine it would be competitive with the skunk2 kits but don’t take my word for it, like I said I am not affiliated with them I just know a guy who knows a guy there.

I have seen their EG arms selling for $169 if that helps at all.

That’s a really good price and if for that price you get:

  • new ball joints
  • hardrace bushings
  • strengthened uca’s
  • ability to dial in camber

Then that’s a GREAT price! Obviously that’s a ball park figure on your part but still. I think anything under $200 is reasonable.

I’m in as long as it’s quality, keep it updated.

^^ this

this sounds like a very interesting venture, i might be interested if the price is kept below 200.

you should realy try to convince them to come down on the number of initial buy ins, finding 50 people might be kind of difficult. GL ill be looking for updates:up:

I am running the Skunk2 EF kit on my DA since early 2008. I notice a lil caster in the front but it doesn’t seem to have affected the drive ability of the car.

I dont have the camber perfect on my car, there is a still about -1 degree of camber but with an alignment it doesnt seem to wear the tires as quickly as I would have expected. It been working for me & i was tuckin fenders in all 4 corners until very recently…

I’d say it’s impossible. I’m sure there are more than 50 people interested, but no way you’ll get 50 people to fork over $$ before something is made or reviewed…

I would most definitely buy a hardrace kit if they made one. I have the revo kit currently, and the balljoint boots failed on them very quickly. I went to replace the ball joints. Revo first told me I could order replacement boots separate, but then the next time I called told me I had to go through a distributor. The shop I ordered from instead sent me skunk 2 balljoints; which where completely different. I called the day they came in to tell the shop they accidentially sent me skunk 2 ball joints, and they preceded to tell me they would work with the revo arms… So now I just want to find a better quality replacement, and hardrace would be one of the top of the list if made available.

That’s so weird… I’m running the skunk2 pro series arms in my car right now and when i got them, the box said 90-93 DA integra…

I got them like RIGHT when they came out though… within the first month. I haven’t been keeping up to date with the A-Arm news since i haven’t had any problems what so ever with my skunk2’s…

And even if the skunk2 arms throw the caster off on DA’s, it doesn’t really matter to me since i have a traction bar and can compensate for that anyways.

you can count me in for a pair!!

Cause it would be very nice to have some upper control arms that are made just for our car’s :hyper:

I’m in for a set
