Any of you guys have a momo hub with cruise control?

I just got one last saturday but am having a hard time installing it. 1st of all there are like 3 contact points on the back of the hub and the top looks like this… .
It doesn’t seem to have wires for the horn either. Anyway, i was able to put it on but there was some rubbing. So i had to trim the plastic peices on the steering column that normally goes into the stock steering wheel and remove the plastic peice for the wire connectors on the stock steering wheel aslo. Now it seems to fit fine but the horn always goes on when i tighten the nut. It’s hard to explain but i hope someone can help. TIA.

I have that damn hub. I should have reposted in the Parts Exchange.

You shouldn’t have to trim anything. As for the horn, jam a wire into the harness (the one that goes to black) and on the other end crimp on a connector. Jam another wire into the harness (on the yellow/green wire) then splice a wire into the new wire and crimp on another connector. I’ll try to get a hold of a digicam so I can show you.

I can’t recall which goes where, but one goes to the metal ring, and the other one hooks up to the horn. The black wire also goes to the horn.

Here’s a question for you. How are you going to hook up the cruise control?

I hooked up my cruise control from the dash. Check teg tips

I just remebered I had a pic loaded. Here’s what I was trying to explain in the above post. The wires were just photoshopped in.

Hey thanks!

BTW, what’s the momo part # of the hub you have? Is it the one for cruise control cause there are 2 kinds of hub that were available when i was buying it. If it’s the wrong one (i know i can make it work) i’ll return it and get another one.

Also what connector did you use for the part of the wire that’s jammed into the momo connector?

Thanks.

I can take pictures of mine to show you how I did it and where I mounted the cruse control but I would have to email them to you though,I dont have a place to host the images. Send me your e-mail addy. tegman@kdsi.net

On that hub, the yellow/green wire is the ground and the black wire is the positive lead for the horn. THAT threw me off.

JonsteR:
4914 has a harness for cruise control. 4905 is the one I have in my car; I had to figure how to wire the horn up myself.

The connectors at the end of the wires are the regular female connectors that you can find at auto shops or Radio Shack; the side that is jammed in is just stripped and shoved in there (ghetto!).

Tegman:
can you email me pics too? silverblueinteg@yahoo.com

hey guys, thanks for the info!! I’m about to get a racing blue momo. Got one question though… what size did you buy? there is the small one and the large one (32mm and 28mm I think)

Tegman: Please send it to damnchinese@yahoo.com as well. Thanks.

silverblueinteg: I do have the 4914 so i do have the right one. Damn, but it rubs. I guess i’ll have to do this at the meet on saturday and hope someone there knows how to do this correctly cause i don’t hehe. Thanks.

hey gusy, i know this post might be a little old, but i need some help. i have a momo hub and a obx wheel. i’ve driven around forever without a horn ( not smart ) and i really need tow ire it up. so basically there are 2 ‘outlets’ on the steering wheel and the connector from the hub has 4 outlets. basically i took a wire from teh green/yellow and put it to one, and then one from black. now whenever i put the piece (the push horn part) it just keeps going off. when i detach the horn part it’s fine, it wont honk, unless i press it. but once i put the horn part in, it doesn’t go off. should i splice the wire from teh green yellow to theoutside ring or something? please help, i need a horn, im tired of being cut off by grandmas in benz. thanks guys.

1st of all thanks to all who helped/responded to this topic. 2nd, we my steering wheel on with working horn last night. Thanks to David (integra_type), tony (tegragated) and arman (sol1d). RedStar, David did the horn wiring like you described but we taped the ends of the connector so it wouldn’t hit anything which might cause the horn to go off. Just make sure there aren’t any of those on your wiring 1st and see if it works. If it doesn’t, i dunno anymore.
