any tricks to get speedometer cable to CLICK for cluster...

OK so few problems,
if there are teg tips for this please attach them to this thread you guys will help me out alot…

  1. I replaced the cluster but i cant get the speedo cable to CLICK into that socket ive tried for hours… is there any trick to that?
  2. My climate control lights dont work, but harnesses are plugged into each other, any help to fix/refurbish that?

unplug the speedo cable from the vss and push the cable through the firewall enough that you dont have to reach behind the dash to grab it and force it in. i think theres a little notch on the back of the cluster where the clip on the speedo cable goes…

1- yes, unplug it from the VSS which is on the tranny. it has a clip around it then you pull it out and give more slack as mentioned above. pics of the clip are on the forum if you search. 1st time is a bitch but after that, you can do the gauge cluster easy
2- search the forum again, people have done this fix with pics

i had my dash in and out like 20 times back 8 years ago, then when i decided to put my car back together 8 years later i had this genius idea after all that cussing and swearing over the years and also after another half hour of fighting with it before i figured this out lmao!
