Usually the goal is quietness, dunno what you’re thinking about. My brother has the tanabe and when him (header, straight pipe, tanabe exhaust) and my friend (header, stock cat, rsr exhaust) rev up, my brothers is much deeper and at the same time it is quieter. I would recommend it.
Tanabe makes awesome exhaust but way to pricey, you should go to an exhaust shop and have them make you a custom catback or turbo back or w/e ur going for, alot a cheaper!!
Tanabe isn’t a whole lot more expensive than any other major brand out there. And personally, I’ve never been a fan of custom made exhausts unless you have a good (quiet) muffler to use it with.
are you referring to tanabe in general, or this “Touring Medallion”? I know a lot about the Hyper Medallion and Racing Medallion, but just never heard of this. I am actually trying to decide between a few exhausts right now, and came across this one. THe ones im thinking about are:
Skunk2 Megapower (92-93 integra) i have a 91, so i think it would take some custom work. does anyone know if i could do this at home, or what exactly is needed to make a 92-93 exhaust work on a 90-91?
Im also thinking of the Espelir JGT500 exhaust, Tanabe racing medallion, or a Kteller 2.5" SS piping kit and a buddy club muffler (the slant tip brushed aluminum/chrome flat tip ones)
if anyone has any opinions on thes, or any others to look into, let me know!
thats good because i want something that is LOUD when i get on it! I dont want it to be super loud when im just driving around because i dont wanna get any tickets. Cops arent too bad around here, so im not too worried. Is the Espelir all stainless (pipes, hangers, muffler, etc.) or just the muffler or something? thanks for helping. I think im going to get the Espelir, but $470 is a lot for an exhaust. I guess yuo get what you pay for tho, so im prolly down for that.
header length is different between the 90-91 & 92-93.
So you would have to cut the 92-93 exhaust about 3 inches in order to make it fit. if you know how to cut pipes then you can do this at home, or get a shop to do it, shouldnt cost too much.
all you have to do is cut the pipe? everyone made it seem complicated. they were saying you had to buy a different cat and header and make new hangers and stuff, but if you only have to cut the pipe, thats not hard. does anyone know anything about the skunk2 exhaust? im really interested in it and the espelir. I want to hear some sound clips and see some pics of the skunk2 on a g2. I heard the sound of the espelir and liked it a lot, but i can get the skunk2 fo like $50 less, so anyone with pics/sound clips, post em up! thank you all for your help! :manual:
yeah just search on here, ppl have done it before, just cutting the pipe (i know for sure that user: lobuck has done it i almost bought an exhaust from him that was made for a 92-93, but he cut it to fit his 91…it was missing about 3inches). maybe the ppl who mislead you were probably thinking the other way around? buying a shorter header w/ diff cat to use exhaust? i dont think that would work.
