Just curious if anyone has ever seen these on a DA before, what they might look like?
driving a 90 GS that is the grey/blue color, not yet lowered. Will eventually lower around 1.75-2"
Any thoughts?

Do you have a pic of your car we could all check out, just for reference? I have never seen them on a teg. They look decent, but it would be nice to see a pic of your car to compare.

knockoffs of volk re-30’s.never seen a da with them.would love to see it though
Car looks clean man. I think the rims would look good, it’s always nice to do something a little different, so if the price is right, then why not?
Personally I would work on getting the car lowered correctly, as this is going to cost more than the wheels. I think any stock car with rims looks terrible, but do what you gotta do.

I’ve also seen these on the rota site. Can’t remember what they were called. Check it out on rota’s site.

I think you are right on the money, JGibbs.
I just bought a set of winter allseasons (excuse the pun), and I am not necissaraly looking for wheels at the moment but I am keeping my eye open for deals that might come up over the winter.
This car is in really good shape but the struts are stock and have never been changed since 1990. I have been planning on lowering it between 1.5 and 2.0" but I dont know if I want to go the regular or coilover route.
Been doing a lot of reading on here and it seems that most people who have bought entry level coilovers arent all that happy with them, or they cause too much extra understeer.
On the block as far as priority is first:
need a catback muffler; cant seem to find anything decent thats affordable at the moment though…
then in whatever order after would be
springs/struts/coilvers,
air intake,
wheels/tires

It sounds like you are thinking level headedly about what you need to do, and I applaud that. Many people on here do not think so linearly about the choices they make, and just jump on the best deal they see. In turn their cars end up looking like half a**ed piles.
If you really need a muffler then either buy a legit catback online, or go to a muffler shop around your house, and get something welded on. It is not that important, and there are many options that will suit your needs just fine.
As far as suspension goes, save up and do it right the first time. If you half ass it, then you will end up doing it again, and spend more money in the long run. Invest in a good set up struts(koni yellow is my advice) and a nice set of springs. You do not need coilovers. They are nice to say you have, but in reality how often will you be changing your ride height? Just get some H&R’s or some Neuspeed springs, and stick with that. Make sure you get a camber kit and install it when you put your springs and shocks on so you do not get premature tire wear.
Intake, and headers are all good, but they do not add a ton of HP, so i say stick with a nice suspension first, then look for wheels and the performance parts. After suspension you can start looking for good deals and adding parts as they come.
Let me know if you need any more advice, and if there is anything I can help out with!

Yeah I will, thanks for the advice!
This is the second teg that I have owned and it took me a little while off and on searching to find one that I liked… It blew me away that this thing has almost 300000kms on it, but its compression is still very high and every single thing on the car works flawlessly. The only little things were a couple of cracked interior plastic parts and a pinhole in one of the headlights. I swapped the good stuff out of the other beater I had that was better and have just made an effort to keep this thing in top nick.
That reminds me… I do need to replace those headlights and also my rear LCA’s bushings are completely shot.
As far as the exhaust, it is important that I find something that is not too loud. I like the way the engine on this car sounds and I don’t want to get an overbearing muffler that drones on the highway or drowns out the engine.
I had a lead on a Vibrant catback but haven’t heard anything about it recently.
A question about the camber things though. I read all about people on here with the correction kits and improper wear issues. I happened to find an Acura specific mechanic of 13 years who has rebuilt and owned several of these cars and knows them (g2’s specifically) inside and out to a level that no one I have talked to can match. Really thorough guy who is a blast to talk to, to be honest.
Anyway, he said that in his experience, the camber kits are not necissary all of the time. He said that as long as all of the suspension components and ball joints? were adjusted properly at the time of lowering, that the camber problem wont appear. Any thoughts on this?
EDIT: I forgot to ask about the exhaust thing… Like I said it is very important that I get something that wont be too loud. I do however know a guy at a local Lordco (autoparts shop) who is giving me employee level discounts and said he can get me an oem style magnaflow axleback for $100 and set me up with a shop to make the rest of the piping to the cat. This sounds good to me but I am not sure about the loudness level?
I have heard very contrary to you in regards to you what your mechanic friend said. I can imagine he would be correct if your car was not severely dropped, but if you drop your car 1.5" or more you should get a camber kit. around 1.5" and less you do not need a camber kit, but it would be ideal for dialing in your settings. I personally would spend the extra couple bucks and do it right, that way when you start buying expensive tires you can get the full like out of them.
As far as the Magnaflow muffler I am not sure. The first muffler I had on my car was a Flowmaster 40 series with 2.5" piping. It sounded decent, low grumble, and louder at high speeds, but after I put a high flow cat, and headers and swapped a motor it was very raspy, so I would say to stay away. Just look up videos online, or find someone on here who has one(I see you already started a thread about it which is good), but look through the muffler thread on here as well, and try to get some info that way.
Keep up the research and patience, and your car will turn out very nicely!
Josh
yeah I have read through most of those exhaust threads in their entirety, though I find it hard to compare someone else 1-10 scale to my own.
… ill continue this in the other thread I guess, lol.
