When I bought my car it already had the alarm there it was juts disconnected it need a replacment remote. I thought it would be simple as just connecting back to the battery and reprograming the remote like the instructions said, but when i press the valet button then hold it no chirp sounds like the instructions said? any ideas? thanks
Will the system go in and out of valet?
Turn ign. on, within 10sec. press and release the valet/program button, alarms LED should turn on solid, repeat to get out of valet, if you can not get in and out of valet there is something wrong with the alarm.
Check fuses, power and ground connections.
If on the other hand the system will go in and put of valet, make sure you are following the proper steps for programing a remote to the system…
Open door.
Turn ign. on.
Press and release the valet/program button.
Within 15sec. press and hold valet/program button, siren should “chirp” once.
While still holding valet/program button, press and hold button I, [arm/lock button] on remote until you hear one chirp.
Release remote button and valet/program button.
Test remote. 94
yea it works when i do that, this is what i do i connect the wire to the battery. The alarm goes off and i press the valet button after i turn the key to acc then i press and hold and no chirp, i noticed it i take the key out and put it back in to the acc the led light blinks when i press the valet i dont know what im doing wrong.
That is not the correct way to do it.
When you connect “the wire to the battery” I assume you mean the alarms power lead, as the alarm goes off, as it should, to disarm it you turn ign. on to the ign., [run] position and press and release the valet/program button, this should disarm the alarm, you can now turn the ign. off.
If the LED is on solid, [valet mode] take it out of valet, turn ign. on, press and release valet/program button, turn ign. off.
If the alarm is not in valet mode or you took it out of valet mode, you can now try and program the remote using sequence I posted above, open door, turn ign. on, [all the way to run, not just acc] press and release valet/program button one (1) time, then press and hold the valet/program button, siren should chirp one time, keep holding the valet/program button and press button I on remote until the siren chirps one time.94
PS, make sure programing jumper, under slide off cover, is in the learn position, page 9…
tried it still didnt work the led light stayed red and then i turned on the car and it would not turn off? idk and plus there is this wire that come out the box thats black with a red lne that is not connected
If the LED is on solid the system is in valet mode, if turning on the ign. switch and pressing and releasing the valet/program switch does not take it out of valet mode, [LED turns odd] then there is a problem.
Remember, to go in and out of valet mode, you must turn ign. switch on and then press and release the valet/program button.
Make sure the button you are pressing is the valet/program button and not the VRS button.:whisper:94

PS, the lead coming out of the box that is not connected to anything is probably the ant.
ok well idk what im doing wrong, im gonna give it one more try and i appriciate the help, the wired that comes out from the box is not a led but it could be the antenna.
Lead, [wire] not LED.
Have you checked to make sure you are pressing the valet/program button and not the VRS button?:whisper:94
yes its the valet button, everytime i press it the led light flashes so im guessing thats it
Just because the “light flashes” does not mean you are pressing the valet/program button, make sure the button you are pressing is plugged into the blue 2pin port on the alarm brain.
Turning on the ign. and pressing and releasing the valet/program button will put the alarm into and out of valet mode, [turn LED on solid (in valet] or turn it off (out of valet].:tapfing:94
ok yea thats all plugged in
[QUOTE=Mexicanpollo;1954840]ok yea thats all plugged in[/QUOTE]That’s not what I was asking, is the button you are pressing plugged into the blue 2pin plug?
If the button you are pressing is plugged into the blue plug and the system will not go out of valet mode, [LED on solid] and you are fallowing the proper sequence, [turn ign. on, press and release valet/program button] then there is a problem with the alarm.
Make sure the H1/9 yellow, switched ign. input zone 5 is connected properly to a true ign. source, [hot in run and start].94
