Anyone install an 80s style Corolla shift boot on thier DA?

wtf?! hella random… anyways, hope you don’t have a short shifter, seems as if that boot wouldn’t be short shifter friendly.

I miss my old AE86 but I definitely don’t miss the outdated interior. I think it would be a sick modification if he could find a similarly styled boot made of leather, and with a straight neck. :werd:

Yup… sure is ugly… neeeext!

That’s not the same boot as mine. That’s from the early 80s if i remember. Mine is from early 90s, sorry about that. Same one I posted an ebay link to in pg 1.

It looks like a dildo.

lmaoo!!

meh, i always disliked the accordion shift boots.

I think it’ll go good with the interior. Here’s my dilemma. I just purchased another integra (LS Special), and the interior is black! So now I need to get a black boot. This is good though, since I can hack up the blue one get it to fit and then see if I like how it looks, or I can paint it?

Painting something that moves and deforms as much as a shift boot is a really bad idea. No matter how strong the bond is it will start to come off. If you can find a way to actually dye it a different color I would try that, but I doubt it’s possible. You can also re-coat it in another thin layer of the color of rubber that you want, or even use a liquid latex solution to do the trick, but paint is a no-no.

I second that. I had one of those ugly ass boots in my old MX6 and tried painting it, didn’t work out too well.

Just powdercoat it… it will turn out fantastic!
