They aany good?

Re: Anyone know about Chikara headers?

I bought some for my GS 90 and love them good cheap investment but if you can wait for some dc it would be even better

Get the torq-step model. It’s normally $190 new.

Only get this header if you don’t have vtec.

I’m planning on getting the Chakira Torq-step painted very soon.

Also, if you search for it, there’s a lot of info.

whats the diff?

Actual performance. The Torq-step has 1 3/8 in. to 1 5/8 in. primary tubes, 2 in. collector, with Y-pipe and equalizer tube.

The other one has 1 1/2 in. primary tubes, 2 in. collector.

chikara reliable

i heard these chikara headers aren’t very reliable and the fitment isn’t that good… but some magazines rave about them… what’s the deal??? anyone with personal experience?? thanks

they fit fine and ddnt have any problems installing them they perform well and throttle is more responsive and if you need a set contact french machine i think he still has a set selling maybe you can get it for a good price:up:

hey whats up
i have a non-vtec that i am building up a little with pr3 pistons, performance cams, skunk2 cam gears, and stuff like that. would a chifira torq-step be pretty good to get or no.
thanks

why get ghetto parts? you will just want the good stuff later

My bro gave me a tork-step for my B-day. The fitment was ok, but i had to do some slight modifying to make it fit (drilling one of the holes bigger) but the gains were quite nice. i noticed a difference in the middle of the power band, but none up top, down low also seemed to be much improved too. They are great for the money, but if you can, try and search for a DC for overall better quality. i like my Chikara, tho, its a huge bang for the buck.

And if you can deal with the rusting! (It does affect performance just under hood looks)

do they have a carb exemption #?

I like mine. Fitment is fine. Slapped right on no modifications. No leaks either. Nice power gain. Great bang for the buck!

If you get the painted one make sure you scrape off the black crap paint that they lousily dipped it in to protect it from rusting during shipping, etc. You can then sand it down and respray it with some nice ceramic coating or HT wrap or even have it recoated (jethot).

If you dont do this you might regret these headers cuz once you start the car the black paint will flake off and it WILL rust and look ugly like mine. If you do that the quality and looks could be made up somewhat and you will be a happy camper. Here is your opportunity to learn from other’s mistakes.

Other than that it really is a big bang for the buck.
