I want to take off the ‘tint’ paint off my tails, paint has been on for over a year now. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove the paint without damaging the tails. Have the lens off the housing now but can’t figure out what to do…and btw there are several coats…TIA
not sure what it will do but airplane paint remover?.. that will take off any kind of paint.
Thought about that too, but I heard it will eat plastic, it’s powerful stuff…went to walmart and found some waterbased paint stripper thats safe on plastics…gonna try it tommarow, hopefully it works
Get some 1000 & some 1500 grit wetsand paper. Get a buffer. Buff off some of it. Then start with the 1000, then buff it. then do the 1500 & buff it. Best way bar none. Works good to shine/smooth the paint between coats if you’re painting them. I’ve done many sets this way; both removing & applying.
:getsome: :manual:

Go to your local auto parts store and buy some aerosol paint stripper. It doesn’t eat plastic at all.
you might also want to try some nail polish remover on it
Look up the teg tips on renewing headlights. That would work perfectly fine. Just a bit longer.
