anyone know how to tell if its oem?

having problems finding oem fenders because im not sure what to look for? any help? imprints, markings etc???

Did you bump your head or something man?
Whats the difference if its an OE fender or aftermarket? If you’re so anal about the fender being OEM,go get one from a junkyard, plain and simple.

Sorry if i sound like a prick, but come on bro.

Here, ill spoon feed you a little.91 integra fender for sale | eBay

Because aftermarket fenders dont fit as well as oem fenders. (Seen this plenty of times) but the again it dependss
How anal you are with fitment of the bodylines.
One way you can tell is the ripply effect at the bottom of the fender that matches the rocker panel.
Also should be greyish behind the fender. Aftermarket ones r usually primed black or have a brand sticker
On it. Thats all i can think of.

True,i have a aftermarket drives side fender and it fit well,i didn’t know tell i looked at it.
Just Google 90/93 integra fenders and you will get a lot of sellers.

I don’t know if this helps at all but previous owner of my DA replaced a fender and it looks like there is a stamp into the metal saying “TKY”. I’m sure it’s aftermarket but fitment is good. Btw, stamp is up top where the bolts are under the hood. I guess other companies will use their stamps or stickers to differentiate their product.

I just went out and looked at my fender, and i have that same looking mark,i typed it in and nothing comes up. I would like to know who make them, causr they fit so well and look just like an OEM fender.

I got curious after I posted before and looked into it. I came up with the company’s name being Tky Kai Yih. They’re a Taiwanese company that make OEM replacement parts. I can’t find any link to their site or inventory though. Probably just carried through body parts carriers.

Interesting,i wonder if they only sell through body shops,i would ask some shops around you and see. Its possible you can order the parts from just the shop,IDK. lol
I also have a OE hood from the same maker, there’s a sticker on it and ill go see if there’s a number or name.

EDIT: can’t read anything on it cause the sticker is falling apart.

We have a body parts shop here in Northern California that sells after market body parts. Their name is Levan’s Auto Body Parts.

no i didnt bump my head, but i want an all original honda car. since im restoring my gsr, i know it has aftermarket fenders on it, i want to know how to tell if they are oem or not. yeah no crap i can look up fenders all over the place, but i want to know if they are oem. even the guy restoring my car said i need to replace all the aftermarket things, hood, bumper, one headlight fenders etc. so before you go on a rant about someone else simply asking for others help, obviously you didnt know too much about it and thats why you went outside and noticed your fenders fitment sucks…

yeah wasnt sure if the tky was the original or not? i have seen many of these fenders with this imprint… guess im going to have to just buy some from acura i guess or buy the jdm ones.

Might want to reread my post,my aftermarket fit well,i didn’t even know it wasn’t the OE one.
And i apologize about my first post,to me,fenders are fenders.
The only thing you can do to be sure is to buy them from Acura, but even then, there going to be aftermarket as well.

aftermarket is non oem

I know this, where do you think Acura gets there fenders from? There all aftermarket cause they don’t make them in there factory anymore, they order them from a supplier. They call it OEM aftermarket replacement parts because there not made by Acura.

hahah you gotta be kidding me right? thats hillarious

If it was me. I would look for 92-93 integra 3dr fenders only. Not the sedan. Not the 90-91s since it’s a db2 right. I’m picky so I would like to be in the same year category. Also the oem fenders are metal. Some aftermarket are that fiber material plastic stuff.

yeah i know all this… but i want to know if there is a way to tell if they are oem, original honda parts. like the newer hondas today have the vins on the fender… anything like thhat back in the day?
YOU CAN GO CHECK OUT MY REBUILD UNDER DISCUSSION FORUM, TITLE IS SOMETHING LIKE RESTORING MY 92 GSR

no there is no certain way to tell if they are original unless u bought the car new and are the only owner (basically you’re fuct)

No I am not sir,the older a car gets, the harder it is to find OE body parts stuff for it.
Small things like a trailing arm bushings, starters, radiators, breaks, rotors and thermostats are interchangeable between years cause they use the same parts,so a 2010 part can work in a 93 and so on. The fenders are all made from an aftermarket company that copy off the OE press cause Acura stopped making them. You’re better off finding a scrapped teg if you want a OE fender,or its going to be aftermarket bro.

What parts from 2010 can work on 1993? Name specific parts that are KNOWN to work.

OP: If your looking for a fender, try calling up the dealer and ask if the fender is original or not. That is your best bet.
