Anyone know this??

About a month ago I put a DC 4-1 one piece header on my 1st gen B16a. I also have had a CTR intake/ITR exhaust cams. Before I put the header on the vtec used to sound etremely loud and aggressive with those cams. But now with the header on it has dulled out immensely not nearly as loud and and aggressive sounding. It doesn’t feel slower or anything but I really miss that deep loud growl it had. Plus I assumed that when you put a header on it would free up more air and result in a louder tone not quiet it down like mine is right now. Anyone got any idea’s

i seriouysly couldent tell you, i noticed my car quieted a bit when i put my header on, but it also made it sound burlier, so i dont know…

Anyone else?

Maybe you’re just making more low-end power, so VTEC doesn’t give quite as much of a noticable surge. With fully-built motors, you can’t “feel” VTEC because there’s not a huge power difference at crossover. Not sure why it would be quieter

i’m thinkin that the free flowing header is lettin the car breathe better not givin you that backed up air suckin sound that we all love but i’m not blessed with vtec so?
