anyone runing with obx or ebay catback?
The reason companies like OBX and Megan Racing can sell their products for cheaper is the same reason Harbor Freight can sell tools for dirt cheap. They use cheaper raw materials and skip the whole R&D and Quality Control part of the equation. Hence the reason why you have to cut this, bend this, etc just to make it fit properly. Honestly put a Thermal, HKS, Apexi etc next to a “cheap” exhaust and tell me theyre 100% identical down to the welds, and ill call you a liar.

Once all that muffler packing burns out, you guys are gonna be crying.
Like has been already stated, for the price, you can have a Magnaflow or other quality muffler welded on if it starts to get loud or anything and still come out way cheaper than buying a name brand exhaust (some of the name brand ones are known to get loud and annoying after a while, too). Most of the off the shelf name brand exhausts still have a good bit of room for improvement… I mean, this is replacing a Thermal on my car.

BTW, this is in the product review section, not a debate forum.

And as I have said once before… spending more money doe snot mean better quality. I had an Apexi N1 on my Impreza… the canister COMPLETELY rotted out from corrosion… because they too used cheap stainless… I was out $500 instead of $200 or less…

this is just personal taste , there is no better one. you pick whatever you like.

pay more, you save the hassle on installation.
pay less , you have fun figuring out how to make it fit.

no need to make others do what you think is good. if you know the 200 one fits perfect, would you spend 2 times more to get same shit?

That is why in this day and age we have internet. It is great at finding out what products are worth the money and which ones are not. And also what makes drifting, drifting, and not sliding… I lived in japan for 2 years and had many friends compete in drifting there and there is alot more to it then you think, but then again from your grammar it is not surprising that you have the simple train of thought that you have.

hehe, my grammar. learning a second language is not a easy thing. what you trying to say with " it is not surprising that you have the simple train of thought that you have. "

how could you say that when you dont know me, dawg? dont judge too fast when you dont know someone. i was thinking of the same way to the people like you that been saying those $600 are good, they are the shit.

you know how i feel after two years living in the bayarea?

life is so much easier than how it used to be.

i dont know about japan, you should live in china for two years to see all kinds of drama , scammers and thieves. its chaos in there. people are living in hell not in china. people are SMART, not like how you think, people dont agree with you, then you are right, they are wrong, so theyd becoming stupid? pls respect other people’ thoughts and ideas, eventhough you think they are wrong at the moment. let them find out the hard way, thats how human learn things.

taking about simple minded, dont even get me started

after all you and others said about someone should get name brand one, how better they are, i will still get a ebay exhaust, look at the topic, i was asking reviews on those, not opinion. you cant change me. i cant change you. unlike you i am not even trying to make you buy cheap ones.

everyone has differnt point of views. drifting is drifting, you can say its more than sliding, what really matters anyways? why living with the rules? its about how you love it, not other people say that ff cant drift and shit, i still see people drift ff cars in japan.
japanjay , you let people and rules and all the surface signs messing with you thoughts too much.

Damn japanjay you are like the coolest guy ever! Man, one day I will have drifter friends in japan too!

Actually you have a gay elitest attitude and hey look at me im awesome attitude. You’re not fooling anyone.

Back on topic I have been running a ractive exhaust for awhile doesn’t sound too bad gives a nice butt hp increase in power fitment is perfect. Just needed the extension that all 92-93s need. Since I got the exhaust for next to nothing I was able to drop some money on better things in life, like my family.

I am getting a nice quality exhaust now, its just used and the price is right. Seriously for 700 I would get a custom exhaust and a hondata s300. Just better spent money. But of course some on the internets will think I am just “some kid that just got his license, parents got him a integra, has no clue what the internet is, and only has a minute clue as to imports from what he has watch in the fast and furious series… Why butcher the car or get poor quality stuff. If you all are so much into not spending money, due everyone a favor, leave it stock height and get a factory style exhaust from the muffler shop and use it to drive to and from school or work. .”

Yeah o fuckin k then.

mirror of the exhaust he’s talking about…

i just got a greddy sp2 few mins ago, it was a steal for that price and conditon

here yall go

^^ looks like it’s in good condition…how much did u get it for?

$220, the person drove all the way from stockton to hayward to drop it off,

its got a cat welded on

good shit…installed yet?

i mma do it later, i got lazy :stuck_out_tongue:

just put it on , and took it for a spin, wow, installation was easy

the full catback sounds really good and solid

a lil bit loud on the high way, i gusse it takes lil time to get used to
:giggle:

cool what exhaust did you have on it before ?

stock

its 4 times louder than the stock,

if 1 is stock, 10 being loudest, i would say the greddy is 6-7 at least

ps i took the car out today

it was loud as hell on the high way, maybe its just me, i never driven a car with exhuast on

sounds good man, I needed a 3" exhaust and to be honest, there are only 2 out there that fit our cars. both in the $500-$600 range. Instead of spending the money on that, I spent it at the muffler shop and buying the pieces I wanted like the 3" Vibrant resonator, 3" Apexi muffler and 3" Vibrant cat. all in all I spent $300. well spent as I got tuned on neptune and pushed out over 400WHP.

as I see it, a exhaust is a exhaust is a exhaust. weather it be stock or a crazy $600 system, it’s made to move air efficiently. Spend the remaining $400 saved and put towards cams, headers, or suspension. If I had to do it again, I would go custom 4" aluminum.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ONE making real power(700+whp) running a name brand exhaust here. custom is the way to go and not to say your trying to make 700+hp, but just an example to others as custom has no boundaries and potential for power is endless. It’s always nice to have that nice deep tone, but you gotta be different in some way. so to say the lease, with all the comments about ebay catbacks and cheap exhaust systems, there is always room for improvement. may not be OBX or other brands listed but greddy and HKS is definately not a one stop shop.

a exhaust is a exhaust is a exhaust
really? lol

yep, and that was funny? in all I wrote, you didn’t grasp anything I was saying?

it’s not hard:

stock exhaust- low tone, good for stock beater, intake, header upgrade

2.5" exhaust- mild tone, good for better flow, cams, headers, intake, higher compression. mild turbo/supercharger build.

3" exhaust- Moderate tone/higher, high compression, nitrous, moderate turbo build, built head, stage 3 cams, throttlebody, Intake manifold, extreme for most N/A cars

4" exhaust or open downpipe-LOUD!!! Extreme Turbo build(Think S372, GT4088R), built engine to handle higher output. cams, etc…

This is so vague but what I am trying to say is, what may be good for one car, may suffer horribly on another, and exhaust sizing is more important than buying the name.

So I finally got all of my exhaust leaks associated with the cheap ass header I bought fixed… this OBX cat back pictured is VERY quiet for an aftermarket… after fixing the few fit issues (mainly just the hanger at the rear axle), this exhaust makes me very happy as it doesn’t drone and is not rice-tasticly loud.

Nothing wrong with Megan here. My header has suited me well in the last three years I’ve had it. No issues whatsoever. And the OBX Hi Flow Cat I have on is just the same. I say go for it, if you don’t like the muffler, fuck it…get a better one, and put it on.
