anyone tried mounting tires???

is it hard to mount and unmount tires?? i want to paint my wheels soon and i don’t want to do it ghetto style with the tire still on. i’ve seen some ghetto places mount tires with crowbars… is it easy?? thanks…

no it’s not easy and can be dangerous.
I’ve done it only because I had to do it as part of my training for work.
Using crowbars can damage the bead of the tire and that will ruin the tire. It would no longer hold air.
It can’t be that expensive to have a tire shop mount and unmount your tire. Also you’ll have to get your tires re-balanced once you put the tire back on the wheels.

This might help.

those gab wheels are sweet… but, as for the slogan:

“a current trend towards ever-large wheel diameters hasbeen resisted 16inch, being judged best for weight package and contact patch geometry.” <—f*cking sweet!

“all your base are belong to us”

it would be about $10 to unmount and mount your tires if they are normal tires(not low profile) and stock rims. Other than that it would be like $40. I was pretty mad when i got my ecsta 711’s in 35 series and i couldn’t afford to put them on my car!

Why don’t you guys go over to Costco. It cost $9 per wheel.

I called up discount tire and they said $15 per wheel. Sounds like a decent price to me.

actually i have lifetime balancing and all that stuff at costco… it would prob. be free… haha… i hope.
