I was looking through my latest Summit racing catalog and saw a really slick set of digital gauges that are DIN sized.
Unfortunately, they were about $130, and I didn’t like the gauge combo they had. It only came with water temp, oil pressure, and voltage. We already have water temp, oil pressure is a must have, but voltage is sorta useless IMO.
So, I jumped on ebay to see what I could find. I found this very affordable DIN sized gauge pod that will allow you to put in whatever combination of gauges you prefer. Has anyone ever used anything like this?
This piece looks like it would save a TON of time trying to fit the gauges in the dash. Also, it would look a lot nicer when you got finished, than trying to rig it up yourself. The only thing I don’t think I like is how they are all slightly pointed towards the driver, via the brakes in the sheet metal. I’m hoping I can find a pod that is just flat, and then put in some digital gauges. Here is a pic of my head unit. I’m hoping to put them directly beneath it. I’m wanting to put in all electrical gauges. Oil pressure, fuel pressure, and air/fuel ratio. Wanting to stay away from mechanical because they are a pain, and make a MONSTER mess if you break a line to one of the gauges. I wanting to go electrical if I can find all the gauges I want in digital…
Has anyone used a gauge pod similar to these before? Does anyone know where I can find a nice flat gauge pod without the ricey brakes in the sheet metal? Lemme know if anyone has any experience with these things. Thanks in advance…
