What I need to know is if the gas in the can is supposed to come out of the hose at any time… What I do is tap the can, bring the puncturing needle back to normal (out of the can), attach the hose to car, and try to charge the A/C… BUT, nothing comes out of the hose… EVER. Even with the puncturing needle in or out of the can, and even with or without the hose attached to the car. I think I have a messed up hose. Any help definately appreciated.
(Isn’t bringing the puncturing needle OUT of the can supposed to release the gas right away??)
Thanks in advance.
PS: If it is my hose, is anyone willing to send me theirs for the time being, so I can live in relative comfort in this summer heat??
THANKS!!!
You didnt metion this but do you have the motor running and the ac on while you are trying to do this ? Your supposed to . Other than that your doing everything right .
yes, i have followed all instrucitons to a T. I’m presuming the hose that is supplie dwith the recharge kit is supposed to always release gas, hence why it’s supposed to be attached before you tap the can?
Basically what I am asking is if I was to tap a can with the hose, the gas should come out right away, and not only if I have the A/C on, correct?
Im not familar with the kit your using but most of the time you use a set of refergeration gauges. I have a buddy that charges up AC’s and he has no problems. If your system is completely empty then you will have to pull a vacume on it.
make sure your charging from the low side… is this system r-12 or r134-a? its a very good idea to pull a vaccuum on the system for 20 minutes and verify it will hold a vaccuum for at least 5 min. you can start the engine and try to charge the system by turning the compressor but if the freon is low enuff it will trigger the low pressure switch and not let the compressor turn on,but depending on your ambient air temp the pressure in your tapped can should be enuff to over come the pressure in the line. I strongly recomend vaccuuming the system down… not only will it ease charging but it also gets the moisture out of the system. FREON WHEN MIXED WITH WATER CREATES AN ACID=FUTURE LEAKS!!!-adam
If anyone is willing, can they sell me their charging hose (guaranteed to be woking?)?? I’m dying of heat in my car, and it’s been hot as heck here lately. Please email me at curls.00@rogers.com
Name a price and where you’re located, and I can figure out shipping. THANKS!!!
PS: I can return the hose to you after I’m done if you still need it… you can trust me ( I have many positive Ebay feedback, and am on this board almost 24/7, LOL… I have no life )
