Has anyone ever noticed that their A/F ratio gauge reading changes when turning the head lights on? In my car this is really noticable when it is warming up. I have a autometer A/F ratio gauge and when the car is warming up it pins the gauge to the rich side, when you turn the lights on in my car (or the defroster btw) the gauge reading changes. In stead of being pinned rich, it now reads rich. Does the way I explained it make sense?
Has anyone noticed this? I understand that this gauge simply reads the voltage off the O2 sensor, but my concern is, does the car actually run different with the lights on? I mean, I;m measuring the voltage before the ecu, therefore the ecu sees what I see, a difference in the measured A/F ratio with the lights on or off. Well this is something I’ve been wondering about.
