I have an safc but dynos are few and far between. Is anyone runing one and how well dose it work?
You can do a moderate tune on one if you have access to a wide-band O2 sensor, but the dyno is probably your better bet.
I think he was asking if it was worth installing like do you get power. I’m actually sorta interested in the power gained from a tuned safc, and even if not a whole lot of power I bet my car would run better.
The SAFC is only as good as its setup/tune. That being said, there is some math that can be done to get a little more out of a car without the use of a wideband or a dyno, but either is still preferable to get a more accurate tune.
If i could get it to run better that would be worth it. With all the mods i have my poor 1990 ecu seems to have no idea what to do.
We’re in the same boat buddy, let me know how it works out for you.
shingle springs is not far (well, not really far) from Stockton… I know someone who can tune that car for you for 120 bucks, but I might be able to get him to give you a price break if you drive it here.
For a fee he will come to you. Street tuning is an option, and if you want a dyno, he has one in Modesto.
It is worth the drive… trust me!
