Ok guys im about to replace my clutch on my 1991 integra GS with the Exedy replacement kit and decided that i will just replace my flywheel as well. Im not looking for performance to be honest with this being just a daily driver for the next year. The problem I am having is trying to find an Oem quailty flywheel for my 1991. I can only seem to find aftermarkert lightweight ones which Im not interested in at all, but I can find oem quailty ones for the 94 integras and up for cheap so my question is are they interchangable and can I use the 1994 oem flywheel without a problem on my 1991 integra???
I also have a B20b sitting in my garage with its flywheel/flexplate on it in good condition but im guessing I cant use that since it was from an automatic car right???
To answer your question, yes any B-series (besides the bastard version in the older Preludes) will work. And also, if you aren’t looking for any performance gains from a new flywheel, why not just resurface your old one? It usually runs around $40 (in this neck of the woods anyways), and you save yourself the cost of unnecessarily purchasing another flywheel
Yea I thought about resurfacing that but to be honest I have running a pretty bad clutch for about 7 months now and Idk what kind of damage I have done to the flywheel and if it even can be resurfaced. Im just trying to prepare myself for the worst situation ya know. Plus I found a 1994 b18 flywheel for 58 bucks online. My car shutters pretty bad right now and is very violent and jerky off the line and Idk if thats the clutch or a fk’ed up flywheel as well
violent and jerky of the line? could possibly be because of low quality axles… or bad engine mounts
Well I just had tires installed and they checked all of that. The only thing they said I should replace is the outer tie rods which I have on order right now. The engine mounts are fine but I wouldnt know how to check to see if the axles needed replacing. Im sure they are the stock ones that came on the car so that might be, It just “feels” tranny related. the car seems to almost bounce and shake off the line (Like its about to stall) but only in first gear when I take off and only after I completely let go of the clutch pedal.
