I have been trying to figure out a way to integrate a cup holder into my car somehow without butchering anything. So this is what I came up with and I thought I would share my project with my fellow G2ers. I will let the pics explain themselves and if you have any questions just feel free to ask.
Wow, not bad.
Let me know how that glue holds up. I tried that same glue on the door panel fabric and it didn’t hold up very long.
Another idea might be to find a vent mount cup holder to mount directly to the ash tray. Just remove the vent tabs and run the screws directly into the cup holder.

I will let you know how the glue holds up. I hope it does. I bought some of the expensive 3m stuff before for door panels and one kept falling off. So I went the cheaper route this time and I will see how it holds up. The vent holder idea might be a easier way. I just had everything at home besides the aluminum angle. It took about an hour start to finish.
Very creative!
very awesome diy! love it

Thanks for the positive comments. I was just frustrated not having anywhere to put a drink. It’s been working awesome since I finished it.

I actually have not really driven my car at all since I did this. I am pretty stoked on the final product though.
