No it doesn’t, the ASR brace uses DC2 style mounting points.
yes it does work. the brace follows the shape of the subframe so it does not interfere with the stock swaybar.
Yeah, I would think it’ll work.
Thanks
i installed my asr brace when i still had the oem rear sway. so there’s no problem guaranteed.
as long as it the Stock sway bar, you might be able to squeeze it in there. My St bar would NOT fit so if the stock does. there will be very little clearance on it
stock will still fit, but the progress bar will not work with it since it mounts where the bar comes across
thanks for the replies guys.
so im guessing the asr and oem itr sway bar would be the only choices for the asr subframe when i upgrade.
Are you sure it was a progress bar you had cause my sway bar went on just fine. in fact im sure thats one of the hole reasons behind the subframe brace.
ASR, ITR, progress they are the same style swaybar and mount up in the same place
alright, thats good to know. ill be getting one of those then. just need to find a deal for either one of them.
does anyone happen to know what size the front sway bar is?
I emailed ASR and they said they didnt think it would fit, and when i got the ASR subframe brace in the mail they were right. I had the 22mm progress bar, and it does not mount like stock. The endlinks attach to the back of the shocks on the LCAs, and upper brackets attach up to the subframe with a bracket, which is covered by the ASR brace. I had to sell the progress one and buy the ASR 24mm bar(pretty much any aftermarket DC, blox etc or ITR bar will probably work. The ASR bar part number I received was the DC one.) since I wanted to use the subframe brace. Check out the install directions on the link below, if you look carefully you can see what I’m talking about. Maybe there’s more than one version of the Progress bar(I bet the DC progress one would fit) out there.
Cheapest way is to just buy the whole package…Check out King motorsports, they do it for 390 shipped and since its out of state you wouldn’t pay tax. If you try and save 5 dollars buying parts individually remember the ASR bar doesn’t come with the endlinks included in the price…
Front sway bar is 22mm stock.
^^Good looking out, thanks for the info! After considering that option and the race sway bar they have for our cars I decided on the race sway bar. Its a little more expensive and comes without the bling subframe brace buuuut it mounts in the stock location and is 32mm:shock:
Just remember with the 32mm bar, you have to run a modified exhaust because the bar will run straight through where the stock piping is. I’ve had this bar for I believe 4 or 5 years now?
^^True, good thing you mentioned it. I had totally forgot about that detail. Running a custom 3inch…
I was not aware of a difference between DC/DA/EF/EG… swaybars, so I cant coment on that. and you might be correct about mounting locations, however
I do KNOW that the progress bar Does fit!!
hmm…i tried mounting it without the silver bracket straight to the ASR brace that you see in the picture and i couldn’t get it to line up…maybe i just didn’t try hard enough. But the more l look at it they must have changed the design. Because if you look at the directions PDF I linked you see that the D brackets attach onto their bracket, and it hangs down lower right at the pivot point of the LCA and subframe. My bar and the one in the directions does not bend down like yours, it was flat. So I’m not sure if yours is the DC bar or they just changed the design. I wonder how you could get that to fit if you didn’t use a subframe brace then…because doesn’t it space it out some?
Did your sway bar come with the silver bracket that the D brackets attach to in this picture below? and did you just not need them? did you paint your end links black? The end brackets I had looked slightly different but pretty much the same idea.

you could be right about progress changing the style of there bar, im not realy sure about this so its something any future buyer of this upgrade need to look at closely and do there research first
when I bought my bar it did come with the extra little bracket piece that you are refering too. I just didnt use them cause as I stated earlier, the ASR brace has provisions to bolt the D bracket directly to it. this was done i believe to alleviate the tear out issue some people where having using those supplied brackets. looking at you link, your bar does apear to maybe have less of a bend then mine does but we all know pictures can be deceiving so thats hard to say aswell.
BTW i wasnt trying to be a dick, just makeing sure people have there info strait:D
No I never thought you were being a dick at all. I just was trying to figure out if there was a different version or I just couldn’t figure out how to install it. Don’t want someone to do what I did. Cuz I’d be pissed if I could have made it fit and bought the ASR sway bar for no reason. At least the ASR one is a 24mm, but I did get a decent deal on the progress one. I only took one picture of my progress before I sold it, the bend looks different to me, but its hard to tell from that angle. I tried doing it without that bracket but it wouldn’t line up for me, it seemed like it lined up at the lower point.
Anyone know if the rear suspension technique sway bar will fit onto the Asr rear sub frame brace with skunk 2 LCA?
