At a full stop, the car hesitates when I step on the gas

So ya, when I first start up, at a full stop, the motor hesitates or bogs when I step on the gas. The motor does not shut off. After that short episode, the engine will not do that again after a good long drive.

Also at idle, the needle drops nearly to 0 but the engine never shuts off. After about 2 to 3 seconds, the needle goes back to normal idle. Again, after I drive it for a while, it won’t drop like that until I start to drive it again the next day.

Do you think a stuck throttle body will cause this? Can it be dirty or something?

Or is it something else?

when was your last tune up? maybe you have a misfire? as for the idle i have a similiar problem, im assuming theres a leak somewhere or the FITV/IACV are dirty or clogged. if i get a for sure answer ill let you know

Might want to check all your ignition components, and make sure your timin is set right too.

what does it idle at normally?
first try servicing the throttlebody. if not that, adjusting the idle as per procedure may help if it’s out
may also want to check your base vacuum. because if that’s low, it will cause these symptoms as well

Where is the base vacuum?

When’s the last time you changed your fuel filter? A clogged filter can cause idle issues and lack of throttle response from a dead stop.

your base vacuum is the amount of vacuum the engine pulls. essentially, it’s what draws air/fuel into your cylinders. a vacuum leak, or worn rings can be the cause of poor vacuum. you can test by plumbing a vacuum gauge into any of the vac lines off the intake mani.
i would probably try servicing the the throttlebody and adjusting the idle first tho.
also, as mentioned, if you don’t know the last time the fuel filter was done, or is due, change that as well
as well, check ignition timing for sure
