Picked up an ECU from the yard today. I’m using it for chipping.
Plugged it in and right away I throw a code 13.
After some research I discover 90 and 91 integras have slightly diffrent ECU’s
90 integras have a External Atmosphere Pressure sensor
91’s have an internal ECU Atmosphere Pressure sensor.
So I decided to take them both apart.
Turns out The 90 ECU actually has a space for the sensor, was wondering if anyone has tried upgrading these older ECU’s with the internal type sensor?
seems simple enough. Anyone?
I’m going ahead with the changes and will post my results when I’m done
A great site for discussing Honda ECUs and modifications to them is pgmfi.org – you may have some luck with their library of knowledge or on their forums.
Went to the yard today. found a internal pa sensor/baro sensor or a Atmosphere Pressure sensor in a 92 civic dx. looked just like the one from my 91 integra so i grabed it.
went home sodered it into my 90 integra PR4 ECU and pluged it in the car. BINGO!!!
No more Code 13!!!
Hope this information can help someone down the road.
BTW also looked at the baro sensor from a 91 Prelude ECU, also looked the same.
Cheers
do u have pics of the chip. im getting the same code. where would the external sensor be at?
Got some pics of the ECUs and how you did the work. Im going through the same thing now. I have both ECUs and would like to try to modify mine also.:read::rockon::read:
