Audio Bahn or Ma's.....

need opinions… I got 2-10’s audiobahn in a bandpass; they sound pretty good but then again I’m not feeling their bass response(I guess I was expecting a cleaner bass…deeper i guess) I’m thinking on swap them for 2 MA’s… does any body can give me any feedback about those ma’s or at least some opinions? thanks. uhh… Curls… any suggestions buddy???

What model are the subs and what amp do you have pushing them? In any case, definatally keep the audioibahns, they are much better subs than any of MA’s. Make a large ported box tuned to 33 hz for deep bass, tons of low end, and MUCH better sound quality than any bandpass can ever procduce. ANY sub sounds like it’s just making noise instead of playing music(i.e. sounds like crap)in a bandpass box. So ditch the bandpass and go ported. It will make a way bigger difference than switching subs. For info on how to make a ported box, go to www.sounddomain.com on the forums and do as many searches as you can. There will be tons of great info on how to make custon enclosures. hth man

I agree… definately get a ported box, or even a nice sealed box, BUILT TO SPEC. Check www.audiobahninc.com (??) for the Audiobahn specs for your model sub, and get a box built to spec. Nothing matters more than a properly built box.

This is my diagram of what box produces what “sound”. Bandpass sound like ass. Sealed are a little on the quiet side, but are VERY good at SQ. A WELL BUILT AND PROPERLY TUNED Ported box will sound good and get 3dB louder than a sealed box.

I’d stick with the Audiobahn’s, but get a new box. If you still don’t like them after that (and after more than a week!), then maybe consider getting some other subs, although those Auiobahn’s you have a re nice subs (I still like the MA’s better though!!).

Anyhow, anything else, hit me up.
