i have a 1990 rs with automatic seatbelts, and lately i have had problems with getting the passenger side seatbelt to move back when i shut the door. Now, it does not go back at ALL and makes this annoying beeping sound. i found out when i press the button on the inside of the door where the speakers are theres some reaction from the seat belt. but it just moves about 3 inches then goes right back. do i need a new button or sensor? How do i fix this? and in the mean time how do i silence the beep? thanks guys.
Those seatbelts are guaranteed for life. Contact your local Acura dealer and they will fix it for free!! I just had my driver side done a few weeks ago. And if they give you any BS tell them they are lying!!
damn. i didnt know that. thanks for the info. what about the beeping though. i remember a post on how to stop the beeping but i can’t find it. do you know how? thanks
unfortunately, I do not…if you have the tool that came with your car that can manually move the seatbelt, use it…on your rear 3/4 panel is a raised like trap door right near the door, open it and you stick the tool in there to manually crank your belt back. just don’t open the passenger door again otherwise it will go back to the open position. I learned that the hard way. but in your tool kit that came with the car should have it in there, otherwise, use an allen wrench, it’s harder with the allen though…hope this helps…
