auto-manual question...

I picked up a shell that apparently had an auto-manual conversion, it was obviously very clean and I did not even notice any hint of auto-manual except for some odd wiring under the dash after I bought it. Which was supposed to “trick the auto ecu into using neutral”. Or something along that line.

Basically, I don’t know much about the conversion, for a 90 Teg, that has the auto-manual conversion done, can I just swap in a 91 manual PR4 ecu and delete the “wiring hack”?, basically what I’m asking is the wiring the same for autos and manuals so I can switch ecus and be worry free.

Assuming the you have the appropriate ECU for your application (i.e. OBD0 ETC) and long as you don’t touch the “trick” wiring you should be able to swap the ECU. One set of wires has to do with the clutch kill switch so you can start the car and the other set of wires is so you can get your key out of the ignition switch when you shut the car off.
