the other day i un plugged my seatbelt from its auto return and when i plugged it back in and closed my door it wouldnt bring the seatbelt to me i checked the fuses and they work fine and my passenger seatbelt returns every time what do i do???
Double check to make sure it’s plugged in all the way. I had this issue once and manually powered up the motor that brings it back and fourth a couple times and it fixed it
how do you manually power it up, mine is stuck open as well i can push it back a lil and when i open my door it goes forward so i don’t think the problem is the motor.
This is how I fixed this problem…
A: Remove auto seatbelt control box from behind pass.side kick panel.
B: Unplug power lines going to both motors.
C: Use your hands and force those fuckers back to your B Pillars.
D: Drive car. Use red button. Win.
Taddaaa!
I fucking hate auto belts. :werd:
I am doing this off memory so I am sorry if I am a little off but To manually power up those motors pull the panel covering them should be next to the seats lower portion. Unplug the 2 wire plug on there and put 12 volts to one wire and ground the other wire and reverse to go the other way. I have a tool called a power probe 3 that made this very easy. at least this is what I did and it seemed to fix it don’t ask me why e-mail me if you need more advice or I might be able to take pictures Dustin.Sondenaa@gmail.com
here’s a really good tip. Take it to your acura dealer. It’s free under warranty.
i am having trouble with mine and i just replaced the door latch and that stopped the beeping, but the light is still on and it wont go back. I powered up the motor from the computer with the harness disconnected from the computer and it will go back, but as soon as i open the door it flies forward. I think that it might be in the anchor switch because that is what grounds out to tell the computer to send it back. but i cant find the switch to test anyone actually work on this plz tell me where to find it. I know it is somewhere in the rail but i cant find it. anyone with insight plz open up with suggestions other than going to the acura dealer because the dealer is so far away.
seat belts are free??
revanda:
at most dealers the ‘lifetime warranty’ on seatbelts applies ONLY to the belt portion, not the motorized portion.
Do you have actual personal experience with this?
Not true, Acura replaced mine for free…the seatbelt wouldn’t engage when I closed the door.
Search for my name and seatbelt and you’ll see the work order from Sunnyvale Acura I scanned for my problem.
as a matter of fact I do have experience with it. Im a tech at acura and I have done them under warranty half a dozen times.
Read your manual, if your belt is stuck forward, they are required by law (unless you abused it) to fix the belt due to it being a safety issue. That is why the belt has a lifetime warranty on it.
The warranty does not cover if you have a leak in that area, but if the belt does not function how it is supposed to, meaning the traveling shoulder belt no longer travels, that’s covered under the warranty.
