okay i tried to search all over for it and i cant find it so ill just post it up. my car was stolen a couple of months ago and i recovered it after a few weeks later. when i got the car back everything was missing and now the auto seatbelts wont work. both pass and driver side. its stuck and even if i open and close the door nothing happens. i checked the fuses under the hood and they seem fine. I dont know where else to look. can anyone help me??
damn… they could have broken it. dont kno if it can be covered under the acuras warranty
im noob when it comes to electrical but would the harness under the seat have to do anything with it? could be unclipped. idk
u can always go manual seatbelts!
no the wires under the seat only tell the computer that the manual lap belt is on or off
is the seat belt light working?? and does the car beep when the doors are shut and the bets arent working??
look behind the passenger kick panal to the right in front of the door and see if the computer is there… and if you still have the factory tool kit there is a tool in there to move the belts manualy, there is a little square plastic piece that is right behind the doors that you can pop off and move the belts manualy… also see if the wires in the door are connected.
no the car does not beep.and no the seatbelt light does not work. ill try to check behind the pass knee cover. im trying to sell it so im tryin to fix it asap.
yeah it may have been disconnected… if it is gone you should be able to pic one up at the junk yard for under $20… hopefully
yea so i looked at it and i couldnt find it. im not sure what you guys are talking about can you be more specific?
the computer is a big rectangular metal box. It should have two harnesses connected to it. One green, one brown. Should have some type of electrical or voltage warning.
its not under the knee bolster its to the right just above the carpet… the panal should have three little slots in it where the sound comes out…
give me your email and i’ll send you the electrical schematic and trouble shooting guide. what year and is it 2dr or 4dr
just fell onto a parts car. took the seat belt rails out and seat belt warning control unit. let me know asap if you need
When my cousin first bought his DA from a private seller, his didnt work either… since that is a safety concern/issue… its covered lifetime. He took it to the dealer and replaced i believe its was a relay, but dont quote me on that. But yeah call you local acura dealer, and set up a appt. Good Luck.
most dealers will just let you go in without an appt but it is always good to have one… im going in tomorrow my door switch is bad and not sending a signal to the belt that the door is open and they got the parts in today and it will be fixed at no charge!!
there is a bulletin about this just take it to the dealer and they should take care of it
can anyone give me the page numbers that is on (at least). I can’t find the schematics and troubleshooting at all in my book… Only thing that I am getting is to test the harness under the seat.
Is there a relay or fuse for the seats?? Only my drivers side won’t work.
oh yeah, I am just trying to figure this out on my own because theres no acura dealer in my area. Closest one is an hour away.
go to the acura dealership, we should have a lifetime warranty on these seatbelts, even if you arent the original owner. theres a thread like this, and it was mentioned that we can take it to the dealer and its covered, dont have to pay for anything.
I understand the warranty thing… just trying to figure it out myself because
- The nearest Acura dealer is an hour away
- I don’t really have time, as I am ALWAYS on call at work. So driving an hour and sitting for god knows how long while they fix it is…:umno:
Thanks though… A Honda dealer is about 10 minutes from me. Do you think they will do it??? Probably not huh?
yeah even though acura and honda are basically the same company, they can’t do warranty work for one another. i’m in the same situation, but acura is 2 hours from me in either direction. i have to go have them verify that i need new belts, and then they have to special order them, then i have to drive back the next week to get everything installed. even though i’m a honda tech, they can’t send them to my dealer. the reason honda can’t warranty it is cause they don’t have access to the acura interactive network (the dealer network) to get the diagnostics and claim the warranty, since warranty claims go by VIN. if you have the acura book, it is in the back section, where the battery pic is in the upper right corner, body electrical. the version i have (different for each year) says it starts on page 23-235.
