auto shift cable

i am in the process of swapping my old tranny…and in order for me to get my other one off i need to un hook the shift cable…but i have no clue of doing so…does anyone know how to take it off?

What cable? Do you mean an electrical cable?

he means the automatic transmission shifter cable exactly as he said,

there is a cap on the bottom of the trans that covers the cable connection, remove it and the cable is held in by a cotterpin, remove the cotterpin and slide the cable off to the side then out.

i took the cap off…but it doesnt expose the part wit the pin…the pin is inside of the tranny…any other way…like takin it off thru the shifter?

i always shine a flashlight in and use a set of curved 5" needle nose pliers and get it out. but yes i do believe you can remove it from the shifter as well. given it will be alot easier to take it off the trans when its off. lol…

remove your center console, the cable should link to the bottom of your shifter, remove the slide clip under your car (usually hidden by the exhaust) and slide it out.

good luck to you.

yeah i want to get if out without taken the tranny off…becuz i am gonna take my whole motor out then switch trannys…and put it back in…ima try to do what u said…then if it doesnt work i will try thru the shifter

ok i took the cover off and removed the cotterpin…now i cant get the cable shit to come out…any idea?

there should be 2 10mm bolts bracketed that hold it on to the side, remove those and slide it off the gear pin… (i think this was the integra it might be the legend.)

yeah i took the lil shit off…but i cant seem to get the shit out…fuck…damn hope it wasnt the legend lol

you have to shunt the cable off at like a 45 degree angle i do remember that much on both. sorry i cant remember everything you need )=
