like the title says, i had done an auto to manual to my 91 frost white da. everything came out good besides i just cant take the key out of the ignition without unplugging my battery. is there a wire i did not wire up? i wired two fat black and white wire together. engine starts up fine. any ideas? i will post picture when i get a chance to.
You will need to unplug the “Key Interlock Solenoid”. 94
if you trace the wires coming off the passenger side auto gear selector you’ll fiind a ten pin connector. in the corner there should be a green with yellowed striped wire and a black one next to it.
you’ll need to somehow connect these two. i opted for the butt splice. that in addition to the big black wires you connected should fix your problem

thanks guys, do u guys have any idea why my gauge cluster doesnt light up, also the climate controlk, hazards buttons etc doesnt light up? my clock works my dome light works, when i run out of gas my gas light works, when im using my fog lights or rear defroster it’ll light up but still its kinda hard to drive without knowing how fast im going.
Check fuse 11 -15A, [hot when park/head lights are on] in under dash fuse box.
If fuse is good, check and make sure the “Dashlights Brightness Controller” is plugged in.
If controller is plugged in, unplug it and use a jumper to connect the black lead to the red lead.
Red/black is 12V+ from fuse 11.
Black is ground.
Red is ground for the dash lights. 94
ok first off i wired the green wire to the black wire of the ten pin connector, worked like a charm, thanks for that one and as for checking the fuse i’ll get to that first thing tomorrow morning. thanks for the replys it made my day:)
well tried to check my wire connections, gauge cluster plugged up, didnt get to jump the wire but shouldnt my gauge cluster light up? checked most of the grounds. cluster works but just doesnt light up or the lights in my center console and the climate control. do they all run on the 11 fuse? checked it looks good, but still planning on replacing it tomorrow, i ran out of fuses.
di you replace the guage cluster when you did your 5 speed swap? if so the bulbs could have been burnt out or filaments brokin en route to your teg
Yes they are all on fuse 11. 94
i did it another way cuz i didnt wana hack the harness up and i wasnt gona use the auto shifter
so the key was stuck in the ignition cuz i had to do a lil research on the wires to bypass to get the key out. so basicaly i had to splice the green and white wire on the ten pin connector . so instead of hacking up the harness i removed the plug from the actual shifter.
so i cut and spliced the two wires
so i sodered and taped the two wires together
i then covered them with some of the wire covering that was originaly on the wires
then taped over that
this is the connecter from the cars harnes
just plugged the plug in and the key comes out
now the key comes out and just gota clean up the car and finish putting everything back ogether
