auto trans problem after timing belt install

yes i did search and i found a few things but i still have a few more questions…

about 2 weeks ago the timing belt snapped on the car… prior to that the trans had its faults here and there…but anyway…

i fixing the timing yesterday… everything was good motor wise… so after putting everything back together i put the car into drive and it didnt go anywhere… the rpm’s were jumping… tires were spinning i heard the trans switching into 1st from park but it just wasnt going anywhere… so i checked the fliuid and i was a quart low… so thinking that might have been it, i added fluid and still nothing… i tried s3 and 2 and they act as if they were in neutral… it stays in park and the reverse works…

im thinking maybe when the car was towed or when the motor was jacked up & let down for the driver side mount to come off to change the timing belt…maybe the shift cable came loose? idk… at this point im completely lost for ideas…

are the axles ok?

yeah they’re good…

i just tried messing with it again… it shifts into all gears fine when its cool… but when it warms up it stops

Have someone look under your car at where the axles meet the tranny and see if they are spinning while you are in gear. Hopefully its an axle problem and not a tranny problem.
