I recently found a company called Automotive Touchup that has everything needed to do a full paint job on my car in an spray can. Its supposed to be a professional quality product. They carry everything from primer to adhesion promoters. My question is has anybody personally tried them out and would it be worth my time? The base is $20 per can and tbe primer and clear are $8 per. Id say i would need atlease 10 of each. Any opinions?
Let me know, im vinyl wrapping minds.
Buy s HarborFreight spray gun and water-based single stage paint from AutoZone/Checkers.
Using an aersol can is a bad way to paint a car because of inconsistent air pressure. As the can gets more empty, the less even your pressure and spray-pattern will be. You will get bad “tiger stripes” and you’ll wish you hadn’t attempted it in the first place.
I’m not trying to discourage you from doing something yourself, but at least use proper tools and materials to have a shot at a decent outcome.

Thanks, i never thought about the inconsistent air pressure aspect.
I did 2 fenders and my hood with spray can using DuPont paint and a 2k clear coat!
1-washed down the car with Dawn dish soap
2-320 grit sanded clear coat off
3-1000 grit sanded base coat smooth
4-1500 grit sanded base coat even smoother
5-filler primer any bare metal
6-guide coat then block sand even
7-shook can for 3 mins
8-laid light coat of base followed by heavier coat
9-3rd and final coat of base
10-2000 grit sand base coat light pressure then tacted off
11-2k clear coat 4 coat 5mins between coats
12-wet sand 1000 1500 2000 then 3000
13-buffing with heavy duty compound
14-buffing with a polish (I used mothers)
With these steps turned out great cant tell I used a spray can but very hard on big parts such as a hood

No tiger stripes on mine plus I did do a 50% over spray
I will get pics once the rain goes away and the sun is out
Exactly… big panels (hood, roof, rear quarters, etc) will be the most difficult.
A good job can be had… but not nearly as easy as with a proper gun.
And you have the right idea as far as prep… that can make or break a paintjob for sure.
I’m going to spend whatever time i need to to make sure i get it done right. I’m biding my time since i do need to pick up a compressor from harbor freight or the pawn shop. I’m sure i can get the prep done in a timely fashion once i have everything i need. After seeing stubbs teggy and his paint i gotta keep up lol.
