i looked at the SCCA rule book and it doesn’t say anything about carbon fiber hoods. i remember hearing something about them but i can’t remember if it was said they weren’t legal in STS or not. the other night i tore the living shit out of the front end of my car and plan on rebuilding it and i was thinking if i can save a little weight i might as well go ahead and do it now. so if anyone knows if a carbon fiber hood is legal in STS please tell me. thanks.
ps… if anyone is looking to get rid of any stock front end parts (hood, bumper with support, driver’s side fender, head lights, radiator support, radiator) lemme know
i cant say for sure, but im pretty sure they are not allowed. id ask someone at the next autox. i think i will. but i think i remember reading about them. bumps you up to SM or something, as do racing buckets… i think
Yes the carbon dos bump you to SM. As for the racing buckets that does not. The last I heard you can have any seat you want aslong as it weighs at least 15 lbs.
The general rule is that if it’s not mentioned, it’s not legal.
As for the seats, they also have to be upholstered(sp?) and be at least tall enough to reach the middle of your head/helmet.
