i’m guessing this is the right section so here goes
one knows how much difference there is between the driver’s side axle and the passenger’s side?
I think the parts store gave me the wrong side, but may even be the wrong part,
My passage side axle snapped and when I set the new one beside it, the new one was about an inch shorter. I though that it was because I broke the other one and couldn’t get it together tight.
When I put the new one in there is about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch left that I can’t push in to the transmission.
The other axle was broken and I need to get home so I drove with in and had no problems until I was almost to my house then the car started jumping out of gears. I drove over 200kms before this happened.

Originally posted by SE-37K There is a difference between driver’s and passenger side joints as one of them plugs into the intermediate shaft. The splines on the shaft that plugs into the intermediate shaft is longer than the other one.
You probably should have pushed the axle in all the way until the clip on the end of the spline locked itself in the differential. Most of your oil probably leaked out if it wasn’t in properly.
That guy from California even knew how to spell Nova Scotia…don’t be making us look bad man.
