ok, well i figured out my issue and its my pressure plate, i ordered a stage 1 clutch…my issue is now i cant get my axle nut off and i broke 2 breaker bars already. the way to get those off is twist them to the left, right? or was it to the right?? PLEASE HELP!!! I MISS MY DA!!!
Looks like you get to do what i had to do:(
Pull the whole stearing knuckel along with the axel to your (insert your mechanic here) and have him break out the big boy air tools for you.
if your lucky like me he wont even charge you.
i figured that out after i posted lol, cause i had the same issue wit my last integra. thanks tho.
Spray some penetrating oil on it and heat it a bit with a torch.
Left to loosen. I use at least a half inch breaker and I use a 1 ft extention on the socket. At the end of the extention you need a brace, like another jackstand or block of wood, 12 pack of beer or something to transfer the load directly onto the nut without snapping your breaker or your temper or your patience.
Just go to pep boys and get an impact gun for like 70 bucks. It really comes in handy when taking chassis bolts off. If you’re like me and you’re always fixing or adding something to your car you wont regret it.
Hey,
Warning Long story but informational
I had an axlenut from hell on my integra. I tried all the normal stuff to get it off. My ingersoll rand 1/2 inch titanium impact (1000 lbs NBT) didnt even come close to taking it off.Me and my friend thought we just werent strong enough cause it wouldnt budge. I finally found a 5 foot extension for a 3/4 inch breaker bar. After I tried turning it, it just moved the car. Then I put the ebrake on, chocked tires. Then with my buddys help it just turning the nut just turned the tire on the pavement without the car moving. Getting angrier . My buddy tried holding the brakes down but I just couldn’t budge it by myself.
All I could think is I needed more torque too move that dam nut. Then it came to me…Ill hook up this 5 foot breaker bar and but the end of the bar on the ground. No posi-trac in my car so only one tire would spin. So I had my buddy drive is truck up to my front bumper. I then put an hold tire in between the cars and he pushed my car. When he pushes my car the tire will turn (turning the axle nut) but the breaker bar is connected and once it turns the ground would stop the bar from rotating breaking the nut free…Well in theory that would work…all it did was end up bending my breaker bar to shit.
Anyways to make a long story boring, I took apart the spindle and took the inner axle shaft out of the transmission. Took it to a machine shop and the put it in this huge ass vice. Then used a 6 foot breaker bar, and it came off.
Although, if I had oxy/acetylene this story may have been different
spray WD40 on it wait 5 minutes, drive the car for 10 minutes or little more, the heat from braking and driving should loosen the axle nut.
