A few questions I haven’t been able to find answers to:
1)I know the 45075 B&M Edge short shifter is supposed to be about 28% shorter throws, anybody know how much shorter in length the actual shifter is?
2)Would getting a dual bend B&M be better than a straight 45075 shifter? I’ve heard about them, and seen only one listed on eBay, and it’s not even listed on the B&M site. Anyone with experience with a dual bend?
3)Anybody know of a place to buy just the ES bushings seperate from the shifter? I live in Canada, so I have a local dealer who can sell me the B&M for the same price as I can find it for online, plus then I don’t have to pay shipping. But I still would like to pick up the bushings as well.
Looks like $53 US for shifter/bushings, plus shipping, is that how much you paid? I’m in Canada, so not sure how much they would charge for shipping.
My local dealer said he’d sell me the shifter/bushing combo for $65 US, so I think that would probably be a wash with shipping added onto the Options Auto price.
Thanks for the review, after reading some other positive feedback, I’m sure this is the one I’m going to get.
I like the DB a lot, feels good and the shifts are nice. haven’t driven a car with the straight ones, so I can’t compare it to that. That shift knob broke shortly after I got the short shifter, so now I have a B&M ITR replica. I want to get a better shift boot and a collar to hold it up better.
Got a link or any pics of the B&M ITR replica knob? I’ve been looking at both a Skunk2 and a Tsudo replica, would consider B&M if the price was right, and depending on how it looked.
Check out the leather shift boots on this thread: Shift Boots. I’ve spoken to him, and he’s thinking about making them for G2’s, but he’d like to know first if there is enough interest to start.
I personally think they look awesome, and are a great price too, so I’m going to be picking one up.
I had a B&M DB in my old hatchback, and I loved it. Easy to install, makes shifting 10 times funner, and easier. I’m getting my teg on Monday, and I intend on putting one in this car as well. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.
