b16 1/4 mile times
Isn’t an SIRII trans a hydro? Are you gonna be getting a conversion kit for it?

Hopefully it’ll help your times out.
No, the 92/93 YS1 is cable.

my factory b16 w/interior gutted ran 15.4, i’m leaning towards your driving cuz i’m also really high in elevation here.

60ft times??

mine were anywhere from 2.1 to 2.4 if they were bad launches, i launched it at about 5600 and toyed the clutch (didn’t burn it) to get the 2.1

oh yea and its hard to get out of the hole at our track because the dumbass rednecks decide to drive their vehicles through the water boxes and drag water up to the line, not knowing to go around or if they are in rwd’s back into it

remember…for drag racing your tires and suspensions have a part in it to…bad tires give you tires spin off the like and bad suspension/mounts give you wheel hop…i would guess with a B16 swap high 15’s…but thats just my .02…

just went to the track .13.20@116 28 60ft

nitto555r
built b16
t67
1000cc inject.
chipped ecu with a afc.
maybe with that mile an hour il run low 12.00’s
just need some slicks!!!

my bad didn’t read title right it was 4 b16’s

i heard they say every 100 pounds is a tenth of a second so yeah weight does make a big difference which sucks for me im almost 200 pounds haha but im still smoking ef’s with their ls’s swaps and all i have is a test pipe with the stock pipping headers intake act stage 2 clutch and a ten pound flywheel

so low 16’s is NORMAL for a b16…thats weird cuz i ran a 15.4 with an LS tranny so not even the short gears

when will you guys understand a b16 is not made at all for 1/4th mile racing?

^ I learned

b16 not meant for racing? you could turbo that and make it a race car. how well does a b18a1 go with a b16 tranny? most likely better then the b16 itself

Ok here is what happend to me

Swapped the b18b1 in my DA with the S1 Tranny I/H/E and Test Pipe I’ve had a good launch aswell on a empty tank of gas I did 15.7 I went to a gas station pumped 93 octance 3 Gallons went back to the track did 16.00-16.6 oo and plus i was on coilovers if that made any differance

why would you put 93 octane in a b18b? that slowed you down probably.

dont worry about ET. look at your trapspeed. that tells you how much HP you make… ET’s can be slower or quicker depending on the track conditions, weather, temp, and your launch, shifting etc…

if you are getting et’s in the 15’s look at your trapspeed. if its like 15.6@91… consistently, then thats on par for your setup. there is no way you will all the suddenly get a 14.9 at 95mph unless you really screwed it up before, or you found out you were shifting too early.

my point basically is that there are guy out there with LS motor hitting 15’s. there are ITR motors hitting 15’s and b16 motors hitting 15’s. comparing trapspeeds between each setup is a good way to determine if or if not your setup can potentially be faster than the other guy in the 1/4.

that said… it is NOT easy at all to hit great times in the 1/4 without practice practice practice. it’s always the guys who spend big $ on the setups to only realize that HP is not everything in determining the outcome of a race
