I heard that the 92 GS ecu has pins for v-tec. I can get a 93 b16 motor & tranny for $900 cdn. I would like to save some cash by not purchasing the b16 harness and becu. If this is true that I only need to hook up a few wire for v-tec with my stock GS ecu can some one please let me know.
This is a shop. They have the 88 to 91 motor and trannies cheaper. This guy sells good stuff. I bought a turbo from a 88 300ZX from him for $150.00. I did not ask about warranty but I can do so. I’ll get back to you.
Now in this case, is every thing plug and go? For example, drop in the motor and tranny COLOR=red](first change all items, clutch, water pump, timing belt etc.)[/COLOR] install v-tec ECU and then wire motor to harness and plug other end of harness into v-tec ECU. If this is so it will be a simple weekend job. I hope this is the case.
go to the teg tips, download the vtec engine swap guide-----read it over about a half dozen times. That should answer most of your questions.
Basically you can just bolt everything right in. Then get a pr3 or pw0 ecu, plug that into you harness. Then you will have to run 3 or 4 wires to accomodate the extra vtec stuff----wala you’re done. Read over the swap guide it should be helpful----and don’t forget to download the ecu pinouts either.
Thanks for the help. You guys really know your stuff. I have Windows XP so when I download I can’t debug the swap text. I’ll download at my friends house and read from there. Once again thanks for all the help!
My friend…you say you have a 92’ teg correct?
I have a 93’ Let me tell you first hand. MAKE SURE THE MOTOR YOU BUY HAS GREY PLUGS!!! Most of the b16’s you will find will more than likely WHITE PLUGS! This is copied from a site that explains some of the differences:

The kid I bought my new teg from swapped a b16a1 (white plug) into this 93 teg…The problem is that The 92+ tegs are OBD1…b16a1’s(white plug motors) are NON-OBD…Very different for emmissions.
It can be done!! Don’t get me wrong. I have this setup currently. It will not smog leagaly. I am currently in the process of trying.
Physically the motors fits in the car perfectly! However the wire harness and pin locations in a 90-91 & 92-93. For your b16 swap I HIGHLY recommend a 92+ b16( Grey Plug)…for the amnt of money I have spent to have my car rewired and prepped for smog, and a new P28 ECU…I could have purchased a 95-95 GSR complete swap! MAKE SURE YOU GET A GREY PLUG b16!!!beware.
There is a very VERY simple solution to wiring a 1st gen B16A into an OBD1 92-93 Integra.
-USE factory harness that was on your LS motor.
-USE OBD1 VTEC distributor or OBD1 LS distributor.
-USE any OBD1 B-Series fuel injectors or your LS injectors.
-USE P61 (92-93 GSR) PR3 (OBD1 version is VERY rare) P30(Civic SiRII or 94-95Del Sol VTEC) OBD1 ECU’s.
As for emissions and smog. I’ll let you know later when I get reffed and bar’d.
