B16 head mated to a B18c5 block?

Would a b16 head fit without any major modifications on a b18c5 block? I really dont hear to much about this swap…

I am selling my type R block and a b16 head and didn’t know if I could sell it as a whole motor…

Thanks

B16A and B18C/B18C5 heads are both PR3 castings, which means they are the same head. The B18C/B18C5 receives a bit of special treatment from the factory, but otherwise they are identical.

doing that would give you the poor mans itr. because the b16 head flows alot better then the gsr.

poorman itr = b18c1 or b18c(jdm non-itr) w/ pr3 head(b16 or itr)
itr motor = b18c5 or b18c(R) w/ pr3 head with itr marking
itr motor w/ b16 head = b18c5 or b18c(R) w/ pr3 head and no itr marking
tegboi motor = b18c5 or b18c(R) w/ pr4 ls head… :run:

to answer your next question the only way to tell an itr head from a b16 head is the itr head has a green mark on the cam hold down right next to the distributor. i would throw the motor together and sell it for what it is. it should sell for a little less than an itr motor.

haha wow, i have my own motor setup :bowthank:
