I just bought a First Gen JDM B16 Long block, It didnt come with a Distributor and I was wondering since I cant find any. Can I use a obd1 GSR distributor?
yes i believe thats fine
can i use my stock ls distributor, if i cut off the leg on it?
Don’t just tell someone something if you don’t know it’s true.
YOU CANNOT USE AN OBD1 DISTRIBUTOR UNLESS YOU’RE USING AN OBD1 ECU.
Yes, you can use your stock distributor if you cut it to bolt up.
geez sorry sounding vague in my wording…YES i know it will def work like the man said as long as you convert the car to obd1…sounds like you own an obd1 intgera?
No, my DA’s obd0. is there any affects if i was to use my LS distributor since it isnt a VTEC one ? Im going to be using my LS pr4 ecu for temp until i have enough money to buy the pr3 from one of the members on this forum.
…
it should work fine i was running a Ls on my GSR i had the cut off the right side leg but even so the bottom left didnt match up so ran on one bolt but i have an obd2 right now i custom wired the clips off a OBD1 distributor and the clips of the OBD2 harness and is workin fine also was told you cant get a OBD0 to work on OBD1 or OBD2 harness but i did that “custom” harness and worked fine also but i’d stick to OBD1 i can send picture if i find my usb cable to the camera… oh i wouldnt take the motor past 4000 rpms on an ls ECU if its a vtec motor i dont know but might just be me but Vtec motor revin past 4 with non/Vtec ECU isnt to good but i may be wrong with that
Are there any downfalls using the ls distributor?
Would I need to wire a vtec wire?
