I was wondering if I put just the 5th gear out of my stock LS transmission into a b16 cable transmission will my rpm’s in 5th gear be the same as it was in my LS tranny or would they change?? Also, exactly how big of a jump would it be from a b16 4th gear to a LS 5th gear?? Will it totally kill my acceleration when shifting from 4th to 5th gear??
I really want a B16 cable tranny but I drive about 75 miles a day at 70mph and dont wanna spin my engine at 4500rpms for that long. My only option to have one is with the LS fifth gear and these are two questions I couldnt find answers to while searching.
Depends on which final drive is in the B16 tranny you choose. If the JDM tranny has a 4.4 final drive, and your LS tranny had a 4.4 final drive, then the LS 5th will give the same RPM in the B16 tranny as it did in he LS tranny. If the final drive is different, results will be a little different.
