i have a 1st gen b16 going in a 90 integ obd0. im useing the integra wiring is that ok? the reason i ask is beacause i noticed the knock sensor on my b18a has 2 pins and 2 wires going intoi the harness the b16 knock sensor has only 1 pin. where does that extra wire go to? next there is a 2 pin connector next to the oil filter. what is that and there are 2 wires that go to that which wire goes to which prong? its not like a connecter that only goes one way. Also what is the 1 prong sensor below that? thanks.
your b18a does not have a knock sensor.
here is a pic of my b17a block (will look the same as your b16a):
Full Size
In this pic you can’t really see the knock sensor. its a black single pin sensor at the top of the block (hidden by the coolant lines in the pic). Its right up near the deck of the block.
The black single pin sensor dirctly to the left of the oil filter cooler is the “Oil Pressure Switch”
I’m pretty sure the green 2 pin sensor to the left of the oil pressure switch is the “Engine Oil Temperature Switch”
On your b18a you’ll see another sensor (slightly higher and to the right of the oil pressure and temp switches). This is a funny looking sensor and will have a “blk” wire and a “yel/grn” wire coming off of it. This sensor is your “Engine Coolant Temperature Switch.” This sensor also exists on your b16a, however it is a brown sensor located on the backside of the thermostat housing.
hope that helps.
thanks
well i just learned somthing. but now i have more questions. so how do i connect my knock sensor now? run a whole ne wire to the comp? also the 2 pin oil temp switch on the b16 which wire goes to which pins? i have the the wires the went on the b18 but which wire goes to which pin on the b16 oil temp. the green plug in your pic with the big nut around it looks the same as my b18a it in the same place too. thats what i was calling a knock sensor. if the temp is now on the side of the engine do i just extend the wires on over to there or how do i connect it? please help me with any other wireing adresses i am going to run into. thanks

well, you’ll have to run a wire for the knock sensor no matter what. there is no wire in your stock wiring harness. I suggest you make your own little vtec harness and loom the knock sensor, vtec pressure switch, and vtec solenoid wires all together, its neater that way.
i’m unaware of the wire colors for the oil temp switch. i could probably find out for you but it’d need to be later this weekend. I’ll have access to my extra wiring harness then. although, this shouldn’t be necessary. the plug from your stock harness will plug right into it. As will the plug for the oil pressure switch. All you need to do is run a separate wire for the knock sensor.
also, to connect the ECT switch you’ll need to cut off the connectors, add some wire and get a new 2 pin connector that plugs into the ect switch on the b16a thermostat. You can get another plug from a junk yard.
