would that even work? is the height of the block an issue? or would it just not work at all?
which b18 crank?
is you try to use a b18c1/5 crank in a b16a block with b18c1/5 rods, then you’re going to have **** sticking out the top. You could use custom lenght rods to make it work. Same thing with an LS crank. Any B series crank will bolt into another B series block, as teh size of the main jounrals are the same (and they all use the same bearings), it’s jsut the lenght of the rod that you have to worry about…
the b16a block is like 7mm shorter than the GSR…
oh oki, thanks battlecat i forgot to think about the lengths of the rods.
The B17A and B16A deck heights are the same correct? That would be a way to stroke your existing B16A while keeping the same block and head. Change the crank and rods from a B16A to B17A while retaining your existing B16A pistons, and I think you can up the compression ratio while increasing the stroke.
It’s just an idea but I’m not certain as to its validity.

Nope, you got it right. That works great and has been done before.

Might be dumb, But can i use a b18c1/c5 crank in a b18a1 with a b16a head? I was told the b18a1 had a medicore rod to stroke or bore to stroke, something like that. Thanks guys. Can anyone help??
