B17 head and B16 block?? Please help!!!

Well I was at sac raceway this weekend and my bottom end blew after running my 14.0@92mph. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use a B17 head and a B16 block? Will they go right together? I am planning on running my B17 block or building an ls/vtec in the future but right now I need it to get me around. I would appreciate the help.

yes same… cams are slightly better than the b16a1

umm sri i thought they were dif… isn’t the b17a1 head a pr3 head same as type r with a less aggresive cam… thats what i have read all over the place…

The b-series vtec heads go like this…

PR3 - B16A1, B16A2, B16A3, B17A1, B18C5
P72 - B18C, B18C1

Also, the ITR head (B18C5) has a port & polish job out of the factory.

also ITR comes with dual valve springs on both intake sides, but the retainers are the same
