as it states…looking for suggestions on a good ecu to use with S300 for a non vtec built and boosted b18a OBD0
bump
I didn’t think that Hondata supported obd0. I believe you’ll have to update to obd1 to run any Hondata gear.
alright thats what i was thinking.
i know i’ll have to search on how to convert but would an OBD1 PR4 be a good choice or is there another non vtech ECU i shoul dbe looking for
thanks
Here’s a list of the supported ecu’s, straight from hondata’s website.
sorry im wording it wierd…ive read through the list of compatible ECU’s i guess i’m wondering is there an ECU that is more capable than others or one that works with Hondata better then the others? or are they all equal to each other and they all work equally as well with hondata
To be honest, no.
The PR4 from a OBD1 LS from 92-93 would work perfectly.
sounds good thanks
and there was an OBD0 PR4 correct?
Thats right, there is a PR4 for both.
Some good reference info for you.

It’s not a perfect list, but it gives you a good basis.
good deal appreciate the help. i might just go with a P75 as i already am putting on a P75 head…help take advantage of it in the mean time
i tracked down the obd1 conversion thread on here to
I just converted my JDM OBDII motor I bought to OBD1.
I personally prefer the PR4.
I’ve run S200 on it.
sounds good guess i’ll track down a PR4 when the time comes probably then

Old thread, I know… But can anyone recommend an obd1 vtec ECU for my setup (b16a head/b20 block)? Thanks.
Any obd1 vtec ecu.
Your motor is not stock, therefore no stock ecu will run the motor like it should.
You need to get properly tuned.
Bingo.
