hi everyone;
i am from turkiye and i have a teg. its '91 LS 4DR and my teg’s motor code ; B18A2 so i didnt found any spec. for this code do u know any thing about this motor type???
maybe thats a code from turkieye but from where we are from we know about the b18a b18a1 and b18b’s but no b18a2
this is so bad i can’t do any modificaton because i dont know anything about this type. nobody know this motor type
I would not be so quick to assume it is a different motor altogether. It might just be the codes taht’s different, like da9(american coupes) and da6(Japanese coupes)
A quick Google search reveals this thread on G2IC about the B18A2 engine, also by someone from Turkey… http://g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112664 . There seems to be a lot of mention online of B18A2 but it’s hard to sift through the information and, naturally, most of the real information about this engine is written in foreign languages. I’d say your best bet is with Google.
Yeah, B series engines are very similar. The blocks and heads are interchangeable, and in some cases you can even interchange manifolds and other parts. For example, I’ve heard that the ITR intake manifold (B18C5-R??) can be bolted onto a B16A engine head. I guess you’ll just have to be careful and measure everything.
yea i imagine jus look for parts for b18a and b18a1 and ull b str8
thanks for advice
motor specification
hi again
i asked many times this question but i still have any information about b18a2 spec. any one have spec information??
there is no such thing as “b18a2”. but for specs on your motor ( im guessing you mean a 92-93 b18a) click this link http://www.g2ic.com/specs.php scroll down to where it says “92-93 Acura Integra”
Why do you want to know about this B18A2 ?? Have you actually seen it somewhere?
yeah under my teg hoods
It is most likely a UK version of our USDM B18A1???
i dont know anything about this.
but i heard b18a3 thats interesting
lol well since it isnt a VTEC motor then you will be fine interchanging the parts around, i do believe the only difference in the a, a1, a2, a3 and so on is just what country the motor went to. all parts for the B18As should work together
who knows maybe the A A2 A3 numbers just mean what ODB they have?
Heh, indeed it is Russian. I happen to be Russian so I can tell you that it’s just a parts catalog site for Hondas. The non-Russian part (years, engine codes, trim levels) is really what’s important here – apparently there are B18A2 and B18B3 engines but not in North America. I guess Honda sells them in the Eastern European block and possibly other places.
The knowledgebase of this site is primarily for North American Integras, so I can see why a lot of people would think that the engine does not exist.
I was under the impression that the DA was not offered in the uk during its initial production. It looks like it was however sold in other parts of the world such as russia. Like you said the codes could very well be country or “world market codes” if you will. Kinda like the jdm b18c as opposed to the usdm b18c1/5.
I was just in Ireland for a few months this past fall and I spotted some G2’s. Not as many as here though. TONS of the G3’s though (and wow do they look nice… to bad they often have drum brakes in the rear).
G3s have drum brakes !?? That’s incredibly lame.
I was never a fan of the newer Integras because I hate the round headlights. I recently discovered that the JDM version of those same Integras had cool rectangular headlights. Now my dream is to have an Integra Type-R with the JDM frontend… drool
