I was told that if i where to put a ls/crank in a b18c engine that it would have about the same results as a ls/vtec so if i change out my bottom end(block) to a b18c can i still use my eagle rods that i bought for a b18a1 or is that not cool.
not as easy as it sounds, you hav eto remove and relocate the oic squirters, deck clearance problems and a whole mess of other problems…plus youll have to use ls rods which when we tried for our race car…melted. we gave it a go,it was a bitch.,…ran but didnt hold together…but thats road racing…6 hours at 9 grand…not good for ls rods
whats ls/vtec
i keep on hearing the term ls/vtec and i dont know what it means. my car is an ls and it has vtec, does that mean that i have ls/vtec???
no
If your car is an LS then it doesn’t have vtec unless you or someone else swapped a vtec head or engine into it.
B18C1
Ok, i was doin some thinkin, its possible to put a B18C1 head on a B18A1 bottom end right? I was thinkin that, although it might be pricey, or totally rebuild my A1, OR swap with a B16A. I have been going over all this in my head and im just confusing myself. My engine has 177000 on it so ill need to do something soon. I want this as a good daily driver which is why im thinkin b16, but the potential of the b18… I dunno! thanks.
will a b16 SIR1 head fit on a b18c block i hope so because then i have to start all over. Will the b18a1 rods work in a b18c engine this is kinda a emergenct help!
You guys need to do some searching before you post. All these questions have been beaten to death.

 You’ve got to be kidding. Why don’t you use the Search button and look up ls/vtec and find out what it trurly means before saying stuff like that.

That’s nice. Learn to use the search button. You may learn a thing or two.
SE-37K, LAY OFF
Ok, SE37, all you ever do is tell people to search. THERES A LOT OF DAMN INFORMATION. Its hard to sift through all the crap that is there. People have questions on common things yes, but is it that hard to write 2 lines saying what it is? I have questions but because of people like you they never get answered. So lay off man.
ls/vtec is where u place a vtec head from a b16/17/18c head on a b18a/b block. this is done for the low grunt of the LS(achieved by the increase in displacement) and high breathing of the VTEC.
the SEARCH button is our friend people

Alright. I have a problem with this comment. Usually when I end up answering questions that I know have been answered before, it means I get to “sift though all the crap that is there.” With that in mind, you would like me to look up the information that’s already available because you are too lazy to “sifft through all the crap that is there.”
Quit being so lazy. In the past week alone I’ve had about 10 seriously thought out questions, that were answered by the search function. Search thoroughly before you ask, and you’ll likely learn more than you would have by starting a new thread. If you have a problem with that, it would be wise to get a hobby that doesn’t have such a steep learning curve.

:read: that is so true b/c if you run a search it will answer most of the questions that you have, mainly the one your looking for and other misc questions. Sometimes search doesn’t answer you r question but all you have to do is start that thread back up by replying or that doesn’t help then try starting a new thread! just my opinion!
