I will pick up my friend’s Integra (1993 LS) in a few weeks and I plan to restomod it. Basically I want the exterior to be as it was the day it rolled off the assembly line with the exception of some 18" wheels which come with the car.
after that I plan to totally redo the suspension so it will have a high performance suspension. I also plan to do swap out the brakes with the brembo brake kit. i PLAN to do a B18c engine swap as well.
My plans for the car is daily driver and when I finish school and get paid a little more i want to get a wrx sti and use the teg as a track car. I don’t plan to dog it, but just to learn how to really drive etc.
Anyway do you guys think that the B18c is really worth the price of admission as far as performance is concerned?
Also with this plan of attack can you guys think of any parts which would really set this car off? Again i don’t care about price, I don’t plan to sell this car ever. It will be to me what a 1964 mustang is to say some 50 yr old dude who has one in his garage.
I should mention i am a noob with cars so please by all means talk to me like a kid, give me baby steps. I really appreciate any and all help you guys are willing to share with me and yes i have done a search
Sounds like you’re on the right track.
And yes, the B18C is absolutely the best engine you can put in your DA chassis. You can quote me on that.
Get the body straight and free of rust or any other defects, then make sure the chassis and drivetrain is in perfect mechanical working order. After that, suspension, brakes, engine, and you’re pretty much set with whatever you’d like to do from that point on, be it paint, performance, or further chassis modifications.
18s aren’t really what I’d put on the DA chassis, but they’re livable and if you like them I’m sure you could pull it off.
Good luck, I think you’ll have a lot of fun with it.
Thank you for the reply!
The 18" wheels believe it or not look really wicked on this car. I will post picks once I get the paint taken care of. There is a little rust here and there and we know someone who can take care of it for us (they do show cars at this place), I am hoping to get all that done for 4500 or less. What are good headers? I am going to go with the cat back greddy spII for exhaust. The car needs a exhaust, so might as well do that upgrade now.
Excellent choice on the motor. 18’s well…If you like the look then yeah, But as soon as you decide to track your car, obviously your going to have to get a smaller wider rim, like a 15x7 or even a 16x7. Ask Digital Horizon about aerodynamics and other track ready goodies for your car.
Wild: did you ever do the B18C Type-R swap
