im looking into getting a jdm 96-97+ type R installed this winter which will have a intake/header/catback exhuast. i was wondering A. Would i see a decent improvment with a skunk2 IM 2.Skunk2 cam gears what hp gains should i see with these. and should i get the engine tuned rite away?i looked and didnt see much answer to these besides that i was told the IM is not worth it on a ls block

What motor do you have installed in your car now?
A Skunk2 intake mani is a replica of a the ITR.
Cam gears and no cams???
Tune? a stock motor.
I would suggest that you get the engine installed, by some one who had done a few.
Drive the car for a little while and then decide where you want to go with the mods.

i just put a b16a in like 3 months ago but getting a little tired of it i really dont want the b16 (almost every1 has that or an h22 now adays lol) so im thinking just get a type R and slowly build it. i was told the S2 intake manifold wouldnt be an upgrade then sum1 else tells me it would im confused lol i no the S2 IM is that same as the b16 one also. And the guy installing the engines does this swaps like everyday lol be about a day swap or little more .

adamlpsj, I’m pretty sure if you were to get a B18C-R to replace the B16A, a Skunk 2 manifold would be the last thing on your mind.
Point blank, the -R is all the “upgrade” you will need for another 6 months.

I just swapped a SIR-G motor and i know exactly what he is saying

yeah, actually GET the motor, do the swap clean, right, and go from there. You really won’t have to change anything on that engine unless you really want too because it’s technically a racing motor straight out of the factory.
