So what tranny are yall using that have a B18c1 swap? Are u using the G3 hydro trans? or a cable trans? I have my B18a out and I have the option of building the B18a or getting a B18c1 and building that. I found a website that had a motor,tranny,ecu,harness,axles for $2700 from a GSR but i lost the website, it was like honda motors or something. Im gonna boost either one, should I use 9.0-1 or 10.5-1 compression for boost. I saw a video of somone with a B18a 10.5-1 compression and 10 psi and it ran mid 12’s.

aight after looking around on the site, I see I can get a B16 for about $1800 or a B18c for $3100. Both being a complete changeover. Do I need a diferent shift linkage than what is in the car from the B18a? if not the price is cheaper since I can get the motor,tranny,ecu,harness for a B18c for $2750. Is the B16 too small for the DA chassis? I thought I saw a dyno graph somewhere where a B18a and a B16 were dynoed at 10psi and the B18a made alot more torque and about the same amount of hp as the B16. I just really need to decide on what motor im gonna use. Ill use spray for a little till my turbo system is completed
I got my motor for really cheap thats why i got it and thought the B16 was a little small. if power is an issue go with the C1 then. I am using the ys1 tranny because i like the short gearing.
aight, well my motor is out but we havent opened it up yet. More then likely Ill use a B18c, will I need a GSR shift linkage? Ill also problly use a cable trans instead of the hydro unit. I do wanna say thanks you for theinformation u have given me

ok cool, what are u using as a ems? iv been playing around on uberdata but im far from done. when u swaped ur motor did u use the gsr axles or the b18a axles? I guess what im trying to say is will the B18a axles fit the GSR tranny or a B16 tranny? Once again thanks so much
I have a B16a (OBD1) and YS1 w/LSD tranny swapped into my 90 sedan. I used the same axles that ran with the B18 before it died. You should be fine.
I am running a pr3 ECU (the OBD1 version) which is stock. I do not have any experience in non stock ECUs, I am sure there are a ton of people here that can answer that question.
well im thinking of swapping to a B18c so ill use the VTEC ecu chipped with uberdata. Thanks for the info on the axles though
i have a c5 in mine i used a A1 at first cuz swap broke me, D: then got a j1 lsd tranny… imo its too short so i just got an itr lsd tranny and i love it, gears are spaced great and it pulls like hell, its pretty exspensive but i think all around itr tranny is great
You do realize that the 96 spec ITR tranny has the same gear ratios as the J1 right…?

I bet it does. The ITR transmission is STRAIGHT BUTTER. It’s even better when you add ITR shift linkage and shift lever :rockon:
