I tried to do a search but as you can see, the results were too broad. What would a GSR head do for my top end if I mated it with my B16A2 block? I’m looking for a little more power. Has anybody in here done it? TIA.

you would gain a little hp simply because you will raise the compression ratio. the gsr head has less cylinder head volume, and that is what causes the bump in compression.
the downside is that the b16a2 (pr3) head has better flow characteristics. I don’t know much about this. But if you really want to build a crazy engine you should use the pr3 head (afterall, honda put it on the b18c5, as well as the b16b).
By using the B18C1 head your compression will go from 10.2:1 to 10.5:1 (almost USDM ITR compression). That will give a bit more power. But if you are going to do this, make sure you use the Skunk2 intake manifold. I wouldn’t want to mess with the P72 one. What a mess. With the Skunk2 Intake manifold you could expect near 10whp.

lol sounds like somebody had a bad experience!!! :shy:
Rich, have you worked on a car with a P72? The thing is not only ugly, but is hard to work around. I just recently did a rebuild of a B18C1 removing the P72 intake manifold for a Skunk2 one as well as putting in some USDM ITR pistons. The P72 is simply NASTY.
